Live stream not hooking up to Cellular data

August 16th 2020 and looks like Wyze are still unable to resolve this issue!

I have 4 Wyze Cam Pros and all worked fine on mobile data up to a few months ago but now nothing! Reported the issue and went through all the formalities with the tech guys but could not resolve. Reading the comments here it is clear there is a long lasting issue and they have no clue how to resolve.

Looks like the only solution here will be to buy different cameras and to write a review on Amazon to warn others from buying these cameras.

Wyze…you just failed your consumers BIG STYLE!

Same here. Was one of the first 50.000 to receive an outdoor cam. Was never able connect to it through cellular.
Submit a ticket. (Ticket 732363).
Let’s see if this gets resolved.
If not, I’ll go with Reolink.

[Wyze Ticket 728598] Re: Unable to connect to the Wyze Cam to the mobile data. Submitted diagnostic info Log ID: 35370 . Same issue now for 4 days this time. All 6 V2 cams and 1 pan cam only connect to live stream when at home on wifi. Have factory reset my Galaxy S7 and reloaded app. Deleted all cameras and ran setup on all. No help.

Same situation. More details on how I found a workaround, using VPN’s or another phone acting as a hotspot

I did continue doing the test, I was afraid that the problem was the phone 1(Tmobile) I used another Device Phone 2(Google fi)

I found out that the Wyze cam video doesn’t work if you do a request directly from the phone over the cellular data.

It works if you use the phone 1 on cellular data as a hotspot. providing Wifi to the phone 2 Wyze video works

I test it with a Phone 3. doing the same. providing hotspot to phone 1 and phone 2 wifi to phone3 as a hotspot) and it works as well

I test it with an external network doing VPN from Phone 1 using Cellular data and it works

Tested Connecting to the Local network Using VPN and it works as well.

The problem could be located in one of the 2 possible locations.

1- mobile data from Tmobile and google fi ( Mvno maybe using Tmobile) its blocking or having issues with Wyze routing over Ipv6 and Ipv4

2- The Wyze app has a bug and it’s not working if the mobile network it’s detected. and has to be on local networks or Wifi local o External Networks

Thank you for contacting us back and for providing more information about your observations and what you think is happening with your camera connections.

Based on your descriptions, it looks like it is not working in IPv6. Please try setting the phone APN protocol to IPv4 only.

If your carrier’s default APN is IPv6 it might not work but we will look into this.

If this did not resolve your issue, I do apologize. To continue troubleshooting simply reply to this email with this additional information so that we can further assist you.

I have done a lot of troubleshooting. The part I have trouble with if I set my Sprint Galaxy S7 (Android 8) phone to CDMA (3G) only everything works over the cellular network, it is just slow. It will not work at all on the Sprint LTE (4G) network, but will work on my son’s S10 on Verizon 4G LTE.

Did this a couple of weeks ago too, i.e, sent my logs, spoke to an online support person, shared logs at least twice…no response or resolution.
Looking at the history of this issue, it shows that the issue was first reported more than a year ago with no resolution in sight yet.
Just one thing…my wife’s Samsung phone doesn’t seem to have this issue so definitely something to do with app’s compatibility with various android versions.

I am a veteran here. almost 2 years Wyze Cam V2 . Until today my cam will not connect to Cellular data.
I stop buying this new wyze cam outdoor. i have 6 V2 and 2 pan cam all of them are unable to connect via cellular shame on support asking to send the logs. I have sent them at least 20 logs, phone reset re install app re install firmware. all of them i already did and still does not work. from iphone 8 to 11 max pro does not work support willb lame your provider or either your phone settings. shame on support. Do not buy this cam. i did stop buying them. funny i still get the emails

100% mine has the same problem and I tried every possible solution.

95% of the time it doesn’t work with the cellular for me. The other 5% of the time it works but and I can’t close the app once I close it i cant reuse the app.

I have just bought a OnePlus 9 phone and started having this issue as well. It’s really unacceptable to not have fixed this issue for over 2 years now. I suddenly lost connection with 5 cameras and it’s really furstrating. Any ideas?

yep i cannot use my cellular to view my 3 year ild cameras v2 and pan cam workaround is open a hotspot wifi and use another phone to connet to the hotspot and it works so this means i have to bring 2 phones with me qhile travelong for the sake of cheking my home

it is redicolous and i stop buying their products

Try and check if your mobile access point can connect via IPv4. I had the same issue for months and after confirming an access point with my mobile provider which works with IPv4, I was able to resolve this issue.

i was on ipv4 ever since 2 years ago when it was recommended that time
until now it is set in ipv4
iphone 11 max pro

again the only way to workaround this is to get another phone and open wifi hotspot and on another phone connect to wifi hotspot this is forxing you to view your cam via wifi only

this has been an issue years now and many log files sent to wyze and shared my cameras to them, wyze advice to re install flush firmware reinstall app creat new account all of that stuff and still bot working

then after all the wasted time wyze will blame your procider or your phone or your home network

i have a gigabite at home iphoje 12 and 11 max pro
and an LTE full speed unlimited i tried all avenues for this and now im stuck with 4 v2 and 2 pan cam that only works on wifi

i dont know anymore so i stop upgrading or buying wyze cam. since 3 years ago

my new cameras are from amazon ziomi same price and i have all access with cellular and wifi with no issues at all.

Same issue here. My existing v3 Cam does just fine.

Its 2023 and problem is showing on my phone for the first time. No problem using any wifi, it just won’t show live stream when using mobile data.
I don’t know why it start happening all of a sudden. Could it be the September 2023 android security patch?
Added and started using a new APN with IPV4 only but didn’t solve. I tried giving ALL permissions to the app, and reinstalling it but still not solved. Any other ideas?
