I have notifications set to off on my Outdoor cam v1 but I’m still getting notifications at 2 in the morning.
Firmware is up to date.
Wife has her notifications ON though.
Other than that, I can’t think of why it’s still notifying me.
Do you each use the same login/password? Or do you share the camera to one another? If so. Who’s the account that had the device installed on it? Where do you have it set.to off? Device level, account level, or app/os level?
we have different logins/passwords. I setup the cameras/devices then share with wife.
Where do you have it set.to off? Device level, account level, or app/os level?
A little confused by these questions. Please clarify.
Thanks!
Shared users of a camera also share the same notification settings. Currently there is no way to customize user settings when sharing a camera.
There are three ways to control notifications. All three have to be enabled to get notifications but if any one of them is disabled. You will not get notifications.
Device level means in your individual camera notification settings menu.
Account level means are you silencing all notifications for all devices in your wyze account? One way this is controlled is via the bell from the main page of the app.
App/os level means in your Android or iOS settings for the wyze app, are you blocking notifications?
Wyze apps should allow individual users to modify notification settings whether the camera is shared or whether it is owned.
Right now, shared cameras reflect the notification settings of the camera owner, and if you are not the owner you cannot turn off the individual shared camera notifications. You have to turn off all notifications.
Makes the whole sharing system a lot less useful than it could be. This doesn’t seem like it would be that hard to fix.
There is a wishlist topic requesting improvements to the shared/notification system. Give it a vote and comment to support!
It has been a while since I tested as a “shared” user but I think you could create a rule (now automation) to change notifications or other settings, and it would affect both accounts, but the main account could not see that rule (nor could the shared account see the master accounts rules) and that made it really confusing.
UPDATE: Big forehead slap for me. I didn’t check my rules/automations this whole time.
Here’s what I found:
I’ve disabled and will post back here.
Ugh.
