Is there Wyze Outage?

Is there an outage at Wyze. I am seeing all my cameras as offline on Wyze App.? There is no internet issue but just the app shows as offline

Not that I see from my house.

I just updated my app and logged in fine.

All cams online.

Thank you, this started about 5 hours ago. Have rebooted my home internet services, but this has not helped. Have opened a support ticket with Wyze.

Similar issue happened about2-3 weeks back and the issue was resolved by Wyze, where there was a major outage.

Sorry to hear.

Not sure why some have issues during normal operations.

Mine only went down on the last outage.

Same here, all cameras offline for hours now.

There was an abnormal spike in downdetector reports this evening:

But not a ton, and mostly recovered now.

If I were having problems (which I’m not), I would attempt restarting a couple of those cameras and see if that resolves it (unplug them and plug them back in).

What camera models specifically are you guys noticing issues with? I’m just curious if there is a pattern, like maybe it’s only the non-TUTK cameras like the OG’s, for example.

Definitely worth submitting a support ticket to Wyze so they can track the number of reports to see it’s not an isolated incident.

Half of mine were down. One other post here mentioned cloud flare (which DNS is 1.1.1.1 ) I’ve been using for years now, but this seems to be the issue I changed to google on my edge router to 8.8.8.8 and now they are connecting fine.

Honestly not sure why “all of a sudden” cloudflare doesn’t work for just my Wyze cams but here we are. Rest of my network and devices have no issues what so ever.

Not sure what, but something is going on for sure. I have 5 V3 cameras, a Wyze bulb, and a Wyze vacuum that all went off-line late on the 28th. However, my 3 new V4 cameras are all still up and working just fine. Unplugging the devices not working and plugging back in did nothing. Rebooted internet and nothing changed. Logged out of app on iPhone and back in but still nothing. Guess I now just wait for Wyze to discover the problem and resolve. Fingers crossed…

UPDATE: Definitely a Cloudfare DNS issue. Changed settings to Google (even though not a big fan) and everything came back up and online immediately. Thanks to all of you that discovered and posted this resolution.

Thank you! I was using CloudFlare for dns as well. Changed to google and now my cameras work. I wonder what changed all of a sudden? I’ve been using CloudFlare for years without any problems. Thank you again sir!

5 of 6 of mine are down. I thought it was my router so I rebooted everything…even power cycled all cams with no results. I noticed at one point yesterday a couple were down intermittently but I didn’t think anything of it. I’m not about to try to pull the ones in from outside and reset, so hopefully this gets corrected soon.

EDIT: this definitely seems to be connected to cloudflare DNS. I switched back to my ISP DNS and everything is fine except for a couple bulbs. Seems to have gone out around 6pm EST yesterday (5-28-24).

I noticed last night my video doorbell v2 was offline last night. I attempted to redo the setup and add the camera, but unfortunately it won’t connect to my wifi while setting it up. I just tried again this morning and I am still unable to connect.
My camera v4 is still functioning fine

Did update last night, now all kinds of issues. I’m about done with Wyze. error code 503, playback is freezing or want play at all. Arrrggg, same crap all the time. Time to move on and see what else is out there. Have 9 cameras, bulbs, and outdoor plugs. Wyze just can’t seem to get there stuff together.

I had same issues with all of my cams except v4. I changed my DNS from Cloudflare to Google and all may cams came back online.

Most but not all my cameras went offline on the 28th at about 6pm MST. I changes to Google DNS and everything came back up. 1.1.1.1 was apparently the issue

Very interesting. Good troubleshooting by all.

I live north of Miami but use only my ISP’s DNS on the network. That’s why I escaped a DNS outage.

Same issue… I use 1.1.1. solely and it’s never bitten me until five of my cameras all dropped offline last night.

I opened a ticket with Wyze Support and they told me to wipe and reconfigure all of my cameras… yeah, no lol

Ouch!

Too bad no one thought to check DNS. People take DNS for granted. Seems they should have asked you to browse the web or something to confirm general operability.
