My camera keeps being set to continual recording instead of event only recording as i have it set. I share my feed with one person. Is there a log of some sort that list who makes account changes such as turning cameras off or changing settings?
Sorry, No. Wyze does not have any available feature that would give us access to any logs about individual users available for anything including settings or on/off.
If you can’t get them to stop changing settings, cut them off.
Can a shared user actually change this setting? I’m away from home and don’t currently have access to a shared user’s phone (and don’t want to set up another Wyze account and share with myself just to test this).
In my experience with sharing, I’ve found it somewhat frustrating that there’s no granularity for provisioning control of a shared device, and it seems weird to me that someone whom a device owner trusts enough to share access can’t even go back in the timeline and view events on a microSD card (for example).
(Yes, I understand that there’s some rationale for this, and I appreciate @carverofchoice’s posts on the subject.)
If @kristophermedlin is sharing the camera with another user who has a separate Wyze account, then does that second user actually have the ability to control recording? Also, is this feature camera model dependent?
It would appear not. I just checked three cameras that are shared with me (V2 & V3), and I can not control recording.
That’s my recollection, too, without having access to a shared account device to check for myself. This makes me wonder if @kristophermedlin is sharing the device via Account > Sharing or actually sharing credentials. If the latter is the case, then the “shared” user is actually operating with full permission/control; if the former is the case, then the changing settings sound like a glitch or some other kind of error.
