iOS Wize App locking up

I have made them aware of it several times already. I was told it is a known issue via chat but they have done nothing yet to fix it.

Just updated the app and there was a firmware update and still locks up the phone. Yes, it is getting frustrating now as it has been a few months now.

It’s been awhile. Starting to just turn my hands automatically now.

I’ve been having this issue for awhile now. It happens on any camera feed, from Pan Cam v1 and v2 and Outdoor Cams v1. Trying to go full screen by tapping the box icon or rotating the phone to landscape, locks up the app and entire phone for several seconds, up to half a minute or so. Then Wyze app closes the device screen and returns to main screen. Sometimes the camera is disconnected too.

I just found this forum today because I’m now beyond frustrated. Obviously Wyze is aware of the issue and I’m not seeing anything published regarding the rotation and app freeze issue. My iPhone 12 pro has been doing this for a while now. Since it has been brought up several times to Wyze as I read in this forum, is it worth for me to contact them via support?

I don’t have this issue on my iPhone or iPad, but my iPad displays Wyze live streams much better when I changed my Display Zoom setting from “Larger Text” back to “Default”:

Settings > Display & Brightness > Display Zoom > Default

Hope this helps.

It is so disappointing that WYZE had known about this problem with iPhone12 for months but they have done nothing to address it.

Yes contact them. I did again today. And naturally they replied please make sure app is update, firmware is updated, Force close app, delete and reinstall, etc.

Have done that for them probably 4 times now and no difference. Still freezes up.

I will be replying to them again tomorrow.

My iPad is fine too. It is only on both our iPhone 12’s. Was fine until an app update back in about late October. So we know it has to do with the app and not really the phone.

Basically the same reply I got on chat back in November.

Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out to Wyze! My name is Anthoun and I’d be happy to explain.

We’ve reached out to the team and our developers are aware of this issue. Thanks to user reports like yours, our team is working towards a fix for this. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience while we work to get this resolved.

I am posting just to allow you to post again since I saw your other post saying it locked you out of posting until someone else posted first.

Had to create a new topic as forum will not let more that three replies in a row even thought they were just updates to the original issue.

Continuing the discussion from iOS Wize App locking up:

Well checked yesterday and app still locks up when iPhone it rotated, when on HD or SD.

In 360P it works.

Did the latest app update to 2.40.0 (15) and received this as the things addressed. Does not say “aspect” ratio issue on iPhone” but now when rotated in HD mode it works again.

Hope it stays that way since it has been 6 months since the issue started.

Will have to check the wife’s iPhone when I get home as hers did it too.

You can always edit your previous posts. And add your new info at the bottom of a previous post after a “edit/” note or “added 3/10/23, ####”

I have merged your single new topic back into the previous thread.

This is true, iPhone 12 still :smirk:

Yes I saw that and thanks but do people in the topic get notified when you edit a post as this was an important update as the issue seems to be fixed.

You could also DM someone like one us active mods or Mavens and ask if we’ll post something so you can post an update. Once I saw you had this problem I went to unlock the thread for you right away.

The 3 post rule is there to prevent spam or malicious activity or substanceless posts. As long as we see none of that applies, we’ll always be very happy to help you especially when you’re sharing important updates. :+1:

Thanks.
