Does the purple marketing color indicate we will actually be able to use our Wyze cameras with our Roku devices?
Funny. But no. No Roku access to stream to the TV yet.
Speaking of Roku, it looks like Roku is starting to do their own stuff now. Look at this non-Wyze looking camera:
Thatās funny. My thought was that the color in the marketing photos was indicative of a future Roku-branded version of the product.
While Roku releasing new Wyze-like products, Neos Smartcams is shutting down in the UK. Neos is the UK equivalent of Roku.
They finally released it. It was spotted couple months ago on FCC report.
@p2788deal Perfect time to try out thingino.com for those cameras.
I donāt have those Neos cameras, just mentioned them in passing.
What I have are lots of unused cam V2s that Iād like to try flashing with Thingino. But Iām too lazy to try opening them up to flip a UART switch or somethng.
The Roku cameras have been for sale at WM for at least a few years. The ones currently there look exact like the V2.
Having the capability to watch cams on Roku is a definite plus without an additional subscription fee, I hope.
Yeah, the ones that Wyze helped them start with have been out for a long time. I was taking about the new ones just barely released this summer/fall that donāt look like Wyze at all.
When you install the doorbell I would be very curious if you have to setup one wireless connection (good) or two, as in the OG stack (ouch).
Iām holding off getting one as my doorbell v2 is finally 100% reliable and wife is looking at me strangely - - changing the doorbell every yearš¬.
I think itās just 2 cameras jammed into a 1 camera view. We will see though.
There are 2 cameras and looks like each one has a resolution of 1140 x 800.
One setup only.
Iām interested in the transmission method. The OG stack made me nervous, but at least they were an inch apart. Having 2 transmitters and receivers just a few cmās apart makes me nervous.
Hopefully it will be one wifi. TCP/UDP doesnāt care how it got there.
If you know this for sure.
COOL. Wyze did it right
Thereās only 1 network connection, unlike the OG stack,
Yes, for sure, itās only 1 network controller in the device and functions as 1 device, it just has 2 lenses.
Mine seems to be, too, especially since I rewired my mechanical chime after discovering that the original wiring had been reversed on the terminals, probably at the time the house was built.
Thatās not what the comparison chart indicates.
Thatās a good point and should be apparent from watching the unboxing/setup video, which also illustrates that the new Wi-Fi Chime is a separate device setup (separate Wi-Fi connection) and apparently becomes available as its own device within the Wyze app (if I understand correctly).
Thatās weird. The display aspect ratios donāt match those resolutions. Theyāre both almost squares. Are there areas not being shown?
