I don’t have a v3 Pro but I’d love to see this feature on other cams, so I’m hoping maybe that’s where this question may be leading eventually…
Since you’re asking about SD cards - there has been an issue with the OG cams (regular and telephoto, not sure about the 2025 as I don’t have one of those) for about a year now where navigating the SD card is very slow with lots of delays. This is app related as they haven’t gotten any new firmware during that time, and it still works fine with the old 2.5 app. This has been mentioned a lot and I believe some people at Wyze are aware, but seems to fall off the radar.
I believe people with the 2025 version of the cam also have the issue so it does affect “current” models.
That issue, along with the 10-15 second delay for many cams to actually start streaming (showing just a still frame during that time) since back around when VerifiedView got introduced, has been making it hard to recommend these cams to friends and neighbors, even though they all want them after seeing my video quality vs their Ring or Blink. I have to caveat these somewhat major bugs, and from what I can tell there isn’t a currently available model that isn’t affected by one or the other.
I just tried my one V3 PRO on 1x,2x and 4x, there is no 8x or 16x. Firmware 4.58.16.6797. iOS app 3.16.0 (20) . Camera first activate 10 November 2022.
Playback from SD works just fine on 1x,2x and 4x, no issues.
My v3 pan (on my second one cause the first did the same) kind of worked for a short while, no it doesn’t playback at all. Sometimes I get a you don’t have an SD card and sometimes I get played back not possible and sometimes I get you need to reformat your card. I’ve changed out with several different cards. And like I said this is my second v3 pan, wyze place the first one but this one is doing the same thing. So no I’m not happy at all. I have several cameras and this is the only one that’s ever done this
