SD Card event/playback issue

New V3 outdoor gets error message when moving to playback screen from the events screen. Am told to insert SD card even tho there is one inserted. I have to note the time, then go the the playback screen and fish around for the time of the event to fully see what triggered the event. This has occurred with two new Wyze v3. Any solution? My two year old camera works just fine and takes me right to the exact time of the event when I press playback.

Welcome to the forum. This a known issue with some v3 cameras and Wyze is working to solve the issue. There are multiple posts on the forum, feel free to search for them,

Opinion? This has been going on for months. Wyze needs to fix older issues before newer or new releases. You can’t get better without going back and fixing issues. Just compounds issues. Will return this to Amazon and wait until I hear this has been fixed.

Good idea. I have one of six V3 cams that will not playback the SD from events.
This is the latest as of yesterday:

When clicking on microSD from the Event Tab it says there is no microSD installed

The engineers think they have found the issue. We have deployed a temporary resolution while we work on the permanent fix for this. If you are still experiencing this can you please verify that you app and firmware for the device in question are up to date, if they are could you please submit a log?

In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. Select your device from the dropdown menu. Then fill in the description box with the date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening. Make sure the Send Logs option is selected and then submit your log. When you have the log number, please post it and tag me so I can get it to the right folks.

Dude, I don’t work for Wyze. I’m just a poor user like you and trying to help whenever I can. Take your frustrations elsewhere, like Wyze Customer Support!

Here is a fix thanks to stanlam

I followed stanlam’s steps exactly and it fixed my problem v3.

SOLVED: I got all my cameras to work. The fix is a bit unusual.

  1. Go to Cam Lite and uncheck the camera that has this issue so the camera doesn’t have Cam Lite anymore.
  2. Then, make the camera record any Event.
  3. Attempt to playback an Event and try the “Playback” feature. The issue will still be there.
  4. Reboot the camera.
  5. Attempt to playback an Event again and hit “Playback.” This time, it should access the memory card.
  6. Finally, reactivate Cam Lite. The issue should now be resolved.

Cam Lite?
I have Cam Unlimited and one problem child V3/SD

Is it true you can not uncheck a camera that is on a Cam Plus Unlimited plan? If so, that would make the above work-around not feasible.

The “solution” also doesn’t work for cams newer than Cam v3 because they can’t make use of Cam Plus Lite… like all of my Cam Pan v3 cams on Cam Unlimited that have no access to the SD from events.

I wonder if you are able to uncheck your Cam Pan v3 from Cam Plus Unlimited service if the above Lite work-around would work the same for newer cameras on Cam Plus or Unlimited.

That feature no longer exists. :pensive:

My problem child V3 is now doing playback of events on The SD card from the events page. Maybe they deployed their temp. fix for now?

I haven’t heard either way. But I finally fixed my CPv3 SD playback issues this afternoon. I’ll have to post something in the fix-it-Friday topic…
