That’s how I have also succeeded in eliminating the out of sync problem. Maybe I learned it from your posts!
I think I see the problem now. Alexa/Wyze Skill refuse to execute two routines in close proximity.
I have a front door cam and a driveway cam. Frequently but not always a given human will cross both of their (narrow) detection zones.
When I had Wyze announcements toggled under Alexa, Devices, Cameras, this worked seamlessly. A person crossing the zones would trigger two announcements, which would get spoken with 1-2 seconds of each other.
But now that my detection for these depends on two Alexa routines instead, I am getting announcements on front or driveway, but NOT both – even though the Wyze Events page shows accurate person events on both.
I guess there is a limiter on routines processing detection via the Wyze skill. This is NOT good.
I will probably switch things back the way I had them.
Edit: Just to mess with me, both triggered properly just now. (No changes)
For some people who have a very smart voice activated home , having an Echo Flex outside where it can interact with Alexa could cause problems. I can’t imagine how many of the next door hacker kids would be trying to get my garage door to open. I did have it where I would say “Alexa, Open Garage Door” and it would open. Last month changed it to “Alexa, Enter the Bat Cave”. I changed routine again this month. So, I would not recommend anything where Alexa can take commands from outside that could trigger an Alexa response,
You can add more badguy foolproofing to that by setting Alexa to designate your garage door opening device as a “LOCK.” Then she will ask you to set a 4 digit PIN for it and thereafter will ask you for that PIN everytime before opening the garage door. That’s the way I have done it with my YoLink “Finger” garage door opener.
@nls, Yolink Finger. I have one of those !! Didn’t know they sold a second one. LOL
Those things are a hoot to just sit and watch work. Like Adam’s Family’s “Thing”.
