Getting -This camera info is Null!-

For a while now, I have been getting the message "The camera info is NULL! everytime I try to watch a motion video sent by my camera Cam Pan V2. How can I fix this?

I am sorry this is happening, can you submit a log from that camera and post the log number here? Also which app version and firmware version is on the camera?

My camera has been stating this for awhile. Is there a solution?

Wtf is going on? Only 2 of my cameras are working. No response from wyze. It either says something is wrong or that null bs. I should have thrown these away a long time ago. Hack company

When you called this into support, did they give you any clue as to what may be happening or not be happening? I haven’t seen this issue with my v2, v3 or v4 cams. I am curious but can’t offer any insight from info provided. Maybe someone else will chime in.

@stevet53220 , @chad723 and @Chris23 , can you also do like @WyzeJasonJ stated above and post your actual app version and actual camera firmware version along with a number of an app log that you created? This will help the team narrow down the issue.

I was getting the null message too. I couldn’t even get to the settings to be able to send a log or get version numbers. On a whim i removed my camera from favorites, went to devices tab and was able to access the settings button in all the other information. I restarted the camera from there. After that, everything appears to be back to normal. There must be a bug in the software relating to the favorites.

Thanks for replying. The number is 1522240.
App version: v3.0.0 (519)
Firmware version: 4.49.11.8391

Yep, my app auto-updated to the new version last night and now all my cam pan 2 cameras say “the camera info is null”. Can’t believe this has been going on for a month and the still haven’t repaired it!!!

I was having the same problem with three of my cameras. I unchecked the stars for all of my favorites under the devices tab and then was able to view all of my cameras again. Then I went back in and reset my favorites and everything seems to be working. I hope this helps someone else.

After I updated the Wyze app to the latest version-- v3.0.0 (519)-- today, I started getting the error “The camera info is null” when attempting to access playback (from the MicroSD card) for events from my Wyze Cam Pan v2 cameras. All events for all the Cam Pan v2 cameras returned the error.

Nearly all my Wyze Cam Pan v2 cameras are on firmware version 4.49.13.0635 (released Aug 8). The firmware was auto-updated despite my explicitly declining to update any of my cameras. I was previously on the 2024-Jan firmware.

I can temporarily “stop” the error if I access the live view and view playback from one of the Cam Pan v2 cameras BEFORE attempting to access playback from an event created by any of the Cam Pan v2 cameras.

The error eventually returns and I have to repeat the step of viewing the live feed from a Cam Pan v2 and then viewing playback, before I can access the MicroSD playback from an event.

I have restarted my device. I have logged out of the app and logged back in.

…

Is it possible to go back to the prior version of the Wyze app ?

Same problem here :sob:

My v2 was giving this error for about 24 hours, but it started working again. I could not open my v3 cameras or view data from my watch during that same window coincidentally. Not sure what happened, but they all magically started working at the same time.

This process works for me also, but it’s a pain because it only works for a short period of time. (Haven’t figured out how long yet, maybe 24 hours?)

Why is both my cameras saying null and error and wont let me click on them ? UnPlugged and back in. Then it sees motion but says null and doesn’t open it

I’m getting the same message, camera info null

Jason, are you implying that Wyze cant replicate the problem? Did Wyze try? Why is it a brand new release is so buggy, but Wyze instead of fixing the bug, does not seem to know what happened and asking the questions?

Both of my cameras are basically bricks now. I can’t click on the live feed, can’t see events, can’t uncheck from favorites in the devices tab and can’t access settings. Garbage.

What troubleshooting have you done? Restarted your phone? Deleted and reinstalled app? Are you seeing any error messages? Can you provide screenshots of what you’re seeing?

Have you contacted Support over your issue?
