Getting -This camera info is Null!-

And why would you ask the users this question? There are multiple posts on this with pictures and descriptions of the problem(s). The first one I see appeared June 18(!). Wyze V2 Cam - Playback from SD Card: Camera info is null What beta testing did the engineers do prior to releasing the POS upgrade? Why is there not an acknowledgement from the company posted, with a promise to fix the problem?

Acknowledgement of the problem and assurance that it is being investigated and working on a solution would be the proper 1st steps after multiple people report the problem.
Otherwise they are showing they dont believe their customers. :man_shrugging:

All my cameras that are in groups are null. The one I have outside of the group is perfectly fine and they all are the same exact type Wyze V2. I’m trying to remove them from the group to see if that does anything but is giving me the problem that I cannot make any changes because the cameras are in null.

I feel like it could be something with a group setting because I want to have outside of the group works perfectly fine and I have it set as my favorite so I see it right away when I first put up the app. It’s the other ones that I have in the group that I’m messing up. Those are usually not responsive at all for quite some time. I do have to restart everything from my router to my phone and sometimes it gets them to work again but this is getting pretty annoying. I’ll help immediately. Greatly appreciated.

i occasionally get this error on my one v2 camera, and it prevents me from pulling up the live stream on ALL of my cameras.

I’ve found that force closing the android app when the ‘camera info is null’ issue happens fixes it. Those experiencing the problem might give that a try, it may work for you too.

This has happened to me twice in the last few weeks and what worked for me was restarting my phone. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s something new in the way the newest Android version works, but it’s worked both times I’ve tried it. Resetting the cam did nothing, but restarting my phone did.

For Android app I cleared app cache, force stop, swipe away in recent apps, restart app and working fine now. Both v2 cams, latest app and latest firmware on Samsung Galaxy S22.

The above solution worked for me, as well.

Force stop app on Android. Then go to storage for wyze app. Clear cache. Restart app. :white_check_mark:

For my Android phone, I cleard the cache in the app, uninstalled the app, reinstalled, and worked great afterwards. Seems like the app was just being buggy. Also, make sure your app is updated before doing this. A good update may fix it as well.

I don’t know if this will help everyone, but I was getting this “This camera info is Null” and my cameras in favorites wouldn’t load to the options also. One of 3 also said it was “off”. I tried unplugging, waiting & re-plugging and that didn’t reset them, WiFi fine, so I powered off my phone and restarted it. That brought everything back to normal except the one that said it was “off” now says “offline”, so I had to re-add it, but that fixed that.

Clear out your cache in your Wyze app on your Android or IOS settings. It worked for me and was able to get my camera working again.

I tried that and it didn’t do anything, even before and after powering them down & back up. Could have made a difference after I did power down & restart my phone, but that’s the only thing that reset everything in the app for me.

The solution about clearing the cache worked for me also.

Question is “why” should we need to do this?
If the app detected “camera info is null” can’t it reset the cache itself?

The new V3 app works great for me but the constant bugs like this are making it very frustrating to use.

I woke up this morning (2024-10-07) and when I tried to view my cams I got the same message as above. Camera info is null. I read through all the other members comments. I tried everything, nothing worked. Until I cleared the cache, forced closed the app, and waited a few minutes before going back into the app. Some how the cams are working normal now. Hope this helps.

If anyone is stlll getting the ‘camera is null’ error can you let me know what the version of your app is and what camera it is happening to?

Yes, got it this morning my Android app is v3.1.5 (569) the two cams I tried were V3s on 4.36.13.0416.

Had to force stop the app and clear cache and delete data to get it working again.

Scott

I had it on the latest version of the app 3.1.5 (569) & it seemed to affect the groups I had with v3 & V2 cameras.
The group with v4s were working.

I also have 3 “unused” V3 cameras which are still assosiated with my account but are not powered on.

Clearing the app cache resolved the problem.

@sleighton & @GabboCH Thank you for giving me that information, we think we have found the issue and hope to have the resolution in the 3.2 app version.

This worked for me as well.
