Thanks for the heads up. I’ve added the tag duo-cam-doorbell.
We should probably also have one for #wi-fi-chime since the new Wi-Fi Chime is set up as a separate product and can operate with other things, not just the Duo Cam Doorbell. I know there’s a chime tag, but this would be for this specific product, especially since it’s supposed to be available as a stand-alone item at some point.
Tag ‘wifi-chime’ (with synonym “wi-fi-chime” for consistency with official product name) has been added.
That makes sense. What I saw in skimming the Reddit AMA is that it might be available separately as early as December, so I can understand waiting until Wyze lists it in their shop. I was also considering that since it’s a separate product set-up (a separate device add in the app) that there could be people who get the new doorbell and decide to add the Chime to their system and start using it independent of the new doorbell itself.
…and as I was typing I see that you edited your post and added it.
Thanks!
Seeing little stuff like this is so great and makes me :
Thanks, @Seapup!
Now we probably also need a #scale-ultra tag, especially since the new product is already reportedly in customers’ hands.
Got it. It’s been added.
Looking for some forum configuration advice.
I have been using this forum for quite some time inside of a browser and got used to using links at the near bottom of the page to return to latest posts, New Posts or Unread Posts.
These choices used to appear somewhere after the last posted message, but before Related Topics. It made jumping around the forum quite easy. When the forum went down, but the Discord Server did not, I noticed these options disappeared after the outage was over. I can still maneuver around.
Do I need to re-enable something that I thought was set by default?
Thanks for any clues and guidance.
(Low priority)
This is what I’m seeing:
Are the “unread” and “new” links and the category tag (Watercooler) on that bottom line what you mean? I notice that your screenshot shows “Related Topics”, but mine has SUGGESTED and RELATED tabs in that same place, and I believe the RELATED tab is part of Discourse’s AI features. I noticed that earlier in the day and didn’t recall seeing it before.
I’m seeing the same thing in both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox running on Ubuntu Linux. I haven’t yet tried other browsers.
Since it does appear that the Forum has experienced some changes, and I suspect that some Discourse updates have been applied, I think your question is fair game for the Forum Operations Feedback Thread topic. That might be a good place to get more exposure and better follow-up.
I saw this addition as I was looking at the page.
I can move these posts to that topic if you’d like so that you don’t have to cross post all this information again, I think that would be a better location for this question anyways. Let me know!
When I click the Hamburger icon in the upper left of my screenshot I can hide or view the left side menu.
Yes. Please.
Thanks.
Yes. Before they outage I saw a couple threads that did not show these links. After the outage, they disappeared from all of the individual threads.
I tried all forum themes and a lot of the categories and I still see that link to “unread, new and category” on mobile. It’s the last thing on the page wasaay at the bottom. What forum themes and what device and what browser are you using?? Any special browser extensions at play here also? Trying to get as much of specific information about your issue so that it can be investigated by discourse or Loki.
Edit, And moved that topic and all its replies to this topic.
Thanks for moving info to a better defined location.
I need to investigate forum themes as I never changed my theme in the past. I generally use duckduckgo or Chrome. I use a few extensions but nothing added during or after the outage.
I will do more testing on different browsers. I move between two phones, a tablet and two PCs. The only common thread I see is using the Forum through a browser. I will learn about forum themes, do more local research and get back to you.
Thanks for the help.
Short answer: the Wyze Theme is the only one that is fully fleshed out. The Dark and Light themes may have feature missing or implemented differently. It’s not likely that these themes will ever be updated to be exactly the same as the Wyze theme.
Thanks. I finally found themes for the first time, I believe.
I will have to review my settings. I never changed anything, but maybe something got a bit flipped somewhere.
I only have five extensions turned on. I will play around and see what I can learn.
(Guess I can remove the unused extensions.)
Currently I am using Google Chrome.
I think I will do all of my testing in Chrome to see if I can find a solution. Thanks for the guidance from you and @Omgitstony .
Tried Wyze Theme and had no luck getting the links to return. I will try other settings, but Wyze Theme is too bright for me. I will try other settings but I prefer dark mode.
Dark mode used to work fine. I noticed Wyze Theme does work a bit differently compared to Dark in other ways.
I will play around. I can get used to whatever I have to use. I am flexible.
Thanks.
So is Discourse. I put something in Tips & Tricks that might be helpful in compensating for the links you’re missing:
