Hi, we know that not all SD cards will work for the flashing but usually Sandisk 32GB Class-10 cards are good. Formatting the SD card will be my first suggestion but you have done it yourself. When did you see the flashing yellow/blue status? If you flash it successfully you should see the camera flashing yellow in the end.
I would suggest following:
Please make sure you hold the setup button before plugging in the power cord
Please keep holding it for 20s (sometimes I use a timer to count 20s)
After releasing the setup button please wait for at least 5 minutes. Some camera can be slow for the process
If it is still not working, please try another SD card
Sorry for the trouble. In some cases, if there is hardware issue, flashing firmware will fail anyhow. If all above doesn't work please contact support@wyzecam.com for a camera replacement. Thanks!
Finally got it working on 3.9.1.102. Not wanting to go thru that again for a bit after half a dozen attempts. Working well. Gonna stay with this version for a bit. Will flash 2nd camera first. Actually, after a short break I successfully reflashed straight to 3.9.3.28
Great to hear! If it fits your need, you can keep the firmware. However you won’t enjoy the new features enabled by our firmware update. that is a pity!
Will this approach work for V2 cameras? I have a V2 cam that has failed to update the firmware many times and I think it’s bricked. I was wondering if I could reinstall the firmware with this approach?
I too am having choppy video issues when connecting from outside my home network. Never had this with my 5 v1 cams, now with the v2’s…I can’t get a smooth connection with sound. Going to try to revert firmware
We released 3.9.3.56 beta firmware for v1 units. It has a chance in buffer management which should help the ‘stuck at 3/3’ issue. Please feel free to give it a try. You can always revert per this post. Thanks!
Success. I was having a dreadful time with my V1 camera since the 3.9.2.30 firmware update. Repeated connectivity problems, and after rebooting the live stream was VERY choppy with lots of lag and stutter. time code in the corner freezing for 8 or 9 seconds then jumping forward. then a disconnect within a couple of minutes. Awful.
Thanks for the instructions for the rollback, successful after about 3 attempts to FW version 3.9.1.102 which is now performing without issue.
Just tried FIRMWARE_660R_F_3.9.3.56.zip on my 2 cameras… Upgraded OK on 1st attempt and the FW rev appears to fix the jitter issue. Thanks.
[updates]: The FW revision FIRMWARE_660R_F_3.9.3.56.zip appears to create another issue with re-setup or re-config after power cycle, i.e., powering down after the successful FW upgrade, the camera appears to be useless basically.
So I tried today release FIRMWARE_660R_F_3.9.3.62.zip and this FW revision appears to fix the setup issue. But don’t know yet what other issues this revision creates.
I’VE TRIED EVERY LAST FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD. I’M STILL NOT RECEIVING ALERTS TO MY PHONE. THE PUSH NOTIFICATION IS ON, ALL PHONE PERMISSIONS ALL ON AND STILL NO ALERTS. ITS SET TO RECORD EVENTS, WHICH IS BEING SAVED ON MY MOTION DETECTION TAB/PAGE BUT I’M NOT GETTING ANY ALERTS . PLEASE HELP.
No luck with Samsung 32 or 64GB cards (they work fine for recording footage), but very easy experience to write firmware with an old Kingston 4gb card.
Can you post the specific Samsung part numbers that didn’t work for reloading firmware? Example (from back of package it came in right above the UPC barcode MB-MC32DA/AM or MB-MC64GA/AM)
And to confirm, this is with v1 cameras?
There may be a reason that Wyze recommends the SanDisk. (I am using Samsung and some old MicroCenter cards for recording, but have not needed to reflash from SD, so no experience to report with these cards)
