Most ISPs that supply you with their own modem/router combo will not let you do anything to modify their service. It is how they control your internet speed at peak hours and what not. Good luck.
I just suddenly started getting the -1011 error as well. Everything was working fine yesterday when I re-added 2 cameras to my network. Both connected fine, firmwares updated, app updated, still connected. Today I get an event notificationā¦but canāt get to the cameras.
Iām not sure if anyone uses the Wyze discord server, but some of the Wyze employees had suggested reaching to security@wyze.com as they are better equipped to handle some of these issues
It also turns out that Wyze does indeed block some IP addresses. So they would most likely be the ones to unblock yours
Still no official word from the Wyze support team
Contacted support and explained that my IP address is being blocked. They took my IP address and said theyād get back to me.
I contacted them with my IP address and they said they checked the logs and they donāt see any block requests. I sent some screenshots back. Weāll see what they say.
Iām having the same issue on an Eero network. Their tech support is awesome, and they donāt think the issue is the router. The fact that I can login and update the device list while on my neighbors Wi-Fi or my cell network makes me think the issue is on the Wyze server side as well. Would love to know if those of you with the IP question get anywhereā¦
Meanwhile, all of my lights and plugs show as offline and cameras are barely usable because of constantly having to do my 2FA on my cell networkā¦
How did you get to that page? Also, is anyone having this issue also running Homebridge? Do you think Wyze started actively blocking Homebridge users?
Not sure I understand. If we visit any of these URLS Wyze blocks our IP address???
Okay. I actually forgot that I was running Homebridge on a server, which had been running fine for a long time. But something must have gone wrong with it, and it started getting denied from the Wyze API, so indeed, my IP is blocked from the servers. I reached out to support today and will see what I hear. Would be interesting to know if my plugin was actually misbehaving or if are they are cracking down on Homebridge usageā¦
Wow same here. I just started using it too! Since Wyze is never going to make there products HomeKit compatible I decided to try Homebridge to see my cameras in the Home app. I wonder if thatās what is causing problems.
It has nothing to do with Homebridge. Iāve been getting intermittent āFailed to update device listā on two different networks with two different ISPs and I donāt use Homebridge. Itās all Wyze server issues.
The pictures I posted came from the privacy report that apple built into the phone. It shows all the different sites that the app reaches out to
I also use homebridge.
Recently I started using the docker container Wyze bridge/ the one that brings RtSp streams
So I know habib says otherwise, but it really appears as if three people using Homebridge were shadow banned due to some sort of API rate limiting and never told about it.
How do you explain the rest of us that donāt use Homebridge? Iām still confident that this is deeper issue with Wyze according to this statement released by them:
"This has been determined as a bug in our service and is not a hardware issue.
Rest assured they are looking into the root cause to integrate what was lacking in our system. We donāt have an estimated time frame on when this will be resolved, currently, the fix is being tested before being released to make sure there are no additional issues."
There is another thread on the forum with similar issues, but a different error code. It appears error 3044 references an api limit
Iām not sure what the issue really is behind the 1011. Iām sure we all have to have something in common though. Maybe itās the way they are processing the 2 factor authentication?
I havenāt had any issues with since my IP address was swapped and I do have homebridge up and running again.
I donāt use home assistant, but will probably try to set up the Wyze bridge in docker for the RtSp streams in the next couple of days
The Wyze employees on their discord channel had said that reaching out to security@wyze.com would probably fix the issue
Two days ago I was told my information and IP were being passed along and that a fix would take 12-24 hours. After that period, I reached back out, and now itās radio silence from Wyze support. I also sent an email to security@wyze that has not been responded toāand on top of all that, Iām now hitting my cell data limit since I have been switching off Wifi at home and forgetting to re-toggle it.
Bummed to say since I was a pretty early adopter and built up a small ecosystem of products including lights, switches, and cams, but this is probably the end of the road for me. Just going to move into something that is HomeKit compatible, even though I will obviously pay more.
My ticket with Wyze has been open since September 29th. Still waiting for a response back.
Not sure if you have seen some of the rumors around Roku. Either they have partnered with Wyze or they are just using the same manufacturer, but their devices are identical!
If the Roku story is true. Iām hoping for the option to flash firmware on it.
Similar here. Iām returning my camera today and switch to more reliable brand.
Twenty five years ago, when I started my business, a very wise man told me: āItās not hard to land a client, its hard to keep them to stay with you.ā
