Email sale

Good evening. For the past 6 months, emails containing sale items from wyze take me to my “Wyze car” app rather than any in-app store.

1: Opens email
2. Oooh cool sale. Let me check that out; click
3. What the heck. Why are you opening my “Wyze Car” app?

No space to upload my video of it here.

First of all, don’t buy anything through the Wyze app - ALWAYS go directly to the Wyze website. If you buy it through the app, Apple or Google is a middleman and charges you extra for the “service” and if there is any issue, it will be much harder to resolve.

Also, I have never received a Wyze E-Mail that made me open the app - however I don’t see those E-Mails on my phone.

FYI, Jimmy told me a while ago that for some reason Google and Apple don’t charge royalty fees on physical product purchases in the app, just digital service subscriptions purchased through the app.

Supposedly it has something to do with them feeling that digital content sort of originates inside their digital ecosystem and physical goods do not.

Having said that, they do charge annual fees just to be a developer on their platforms.

Interesting though that buying a camera is exempt from the royalties, so that’s not an issue. Still, it is a good policy to avoid buying with the app.

As for OP’s question, that is interesting. I don’t have the Wyze care, so I can’t reproduce the issue, and it might be iOS specific.

If anyone else has experienced this lately, please chime in.

Here is what I might suggest though: Log out of the Wyze app, Log back in so it is the most recent app that was logged into with the Wyze account, and see if that fixes it. Maybe it’s pulling up the most recent app in some way?
