I think your assessment is correct and something is probably fudged on Wyze’s end. What you’re describing seems kind of like when they were doing tests of Descriptive Alerts:

I wonder what your subscription status is and what Support has said. If you haven’t already done so, then I’d be inclined to submit a log and open a ticket, so at least there’s something to track.
