Doorbell is hot to the touch and discolored from the heat. Can you help?

Is this heat from the electrical wiring or from the extreme heat waves lately (record heat waves where I live anyway) and sun blasting it? I ask because I can barely even touch my black Lock Bolt in the evenings nowadays without nearly burning myself.
