This whole thing is CLEARLY a legal battle about to take place. One from customers purchasing the services through Apple but the company not honoring but FROM Apple it’s self as i am more than sure that Wyze had to sign some sort of agreement with Apple and Google to have their app on their platform and to sell their services. If they don’t like or can’t handle the integration and fees, then they should not have agreement with them.
Let me assure you Apple has all this in place when signing on a new application
Wyze is looking at breach of contract with not only customers but Apple. I’m going to sit back and eat my popcorn to watch this one play out as I just spoke with legal department within Apple They are reviewing all and this actual thread and similar ones to see how clearly it’s noted the issue with services sold through them and not being honored or the ability to integrate the services as they are selling for Wyze.
As I stated to Apple, any legal advisors starting action and looking for customers affected by this, please feel free to contact me for addition to class action. I have over 4 years of services not working, request for refunds and inability to help from Wyze and unresponsive requests made to Wyze for all such items. Including removing such (as this one) comments to forums and requests to the team going without any resolution or concern. Especially no return of funds made to services not rendered. The complete lack of response or concern has all been overly documented Pls feel free to contact me directly
It’s very easy to buy the plan on the website and cancel the one on the app.
It’s all about Ts&Cs - neither company is interested in taking any responsibility for a good customer experience and in this case I can’t fault Apple for giving wyze a store front. The app developer is ultimately responsible for the functionality of the product, the fulfillment of the service, and the contentment of the customer. It’s just simply bad business and pitiful humanity if company W produces widgets and wants to rent retail space from company A to sell widgets then sells widgets to C - the consumer - and relates all problems with the widgets it produces back to company A who rents the space to company W to sell widgets.
Yea, we can always point back to the Ts and Cs for legal definitions but trust is defined by solid and continuing interactions. Money exchanged for services with poor service and an expedient transference of accountability doesn’t bode well for continued interaction.
It’s better for Wyze to have us buy the same service twice. Great profitability model!
wondering if now is ok to purchase Cam Plus subscription through iOS appstore?
HIGHLY recommended AGAINST buying anything Wyze through the iOS appstore - ESPECIALLY services.
thanks.
is the reason, because Wyze app won’t recognize the subscription?
As I understand it, it most likely will work, but if there are any issues it will become a massive finger pointing exercise between Wyze and Apple. Also, as I understand it, Apple will charge you a higher price than if you buy directly from Wyze.
Yeah, Apple removes a lot of the control of the subscription from Wyze and restricts what they are allowed to do or how they are allowed to help you. They also charge app companies up to a 30% extortion fee I mean royalties for any subscription ordered through the App, which forces Wyze to raise the prices, either in general to everyone, or just 30% more to just app purchasers. Either way, it’s always better to order subscriptions through a Website. Like K6CCC said, if there is ever something you need help with related to the subscription, Apple will make it difficult for Wyze to help you with it because they don’t allow companies any control over subscriptions purchased through the app. They want to make sure they get their extortion money royalties and that there can not be any refunds, etc. so they don’t allow the company to touch their own subscription. It becomes a real headache for companies to try to give you good customer service with Apple won’t even allow them to interact with the subscription.
It’s immensely safer to just order through the company directly on their website instead of the app. Then you never get caught in the middle of the extortion royalties crossfire, when you just want some help with something.
Always use the website for cam plus…I made that mistake with my first camera with the play store and then got the 99 dollar unlimited plan and cancelled my play store one.

Greetings to all. I see that I am not the only one with the problem of purchasing the Wyze Cam membership through Apple. I made a 2 cam membership purchase for $42.79 and by mistake I had a ramdon email in my Wyze account. and thank G-d they returned my money. I created a new account on Wyze and even then my Apple account is not linked to the Wyze account and now Apple does not want to refund my money because of the terms and conditions of I don’t know what the hell I’m doing losing $42.79 and these two millionaire companies.
Agh. I feel so bad now. I just subscribed 40 days ago from my iPhone, could have done this from the PC instead. I didn’t think about the Apple fee. Maybe disable the option in the app then? It’s easy to do it through the website I guess.
It’s okay. The app is really convenient, and some people wouldn’t even bother subscribing if they had to do so through a browser, so Wyze will almost definitely leave it as an option in the app. They also can’t suggest to people to order it through the website instead of the app because then Apple and Google would deny their app being on their app stores. So they just have to do it this way. But we users can tell each other it’s better to order through the browser.
That sucks so bad. I’m so sorry. Generally I would try to subscribe through the web if you can, if nothing else for ease of cancellation and better overall pricing. So sorry.

I tried going through the Wyze web but it never sends the code and keeps telling me the code I entered is wrong and then says too many failed attempts so I can’t go through the Web app!
I did it through the app instead and everything seems to have gone through fine, got the confirmation email from Wyse but my upgrade does not appear in the app.
This happens every time I try to change my plan.
The website fails to send the code to make the purchase. I get a code when I first login and then it asks for another one when I make the purchase, I never get a second code, I enter the original code and it says it’s wrong. After three attempts it locks you out!
