Thanks for the tip.
Will it be still convenient when we need to clean up the dust stuck inside or around the gasket? I probably… worry too much
I don’t think it is a bad idea to glue it but my version shouldn’t fall out.
I agree that the battery life is low. HOWEVER, my biggest complaint is that unless the debris is flat, this vacuum actually pushes debris forward. I have hardwood floors and its beyond frustrating that it pushes debris forward and you can’t raise the front of the vacuum to lift over the debris it’s pushing and not sucking up. There’s not enough space for debris to go under front of vacuum. ARGH… hate this. So disappointed.
Wanna sell it?
I actually like that it’s mostly flat. It picks up small stuff my Shark didn’t and I feel like it gets better overall suction on my carpet. I just use the tube for larger stuff that doesn’t fit under the sweeper head.
I’m never had or used a SHARK nor any other cordless vacuum. So this is all new to me. The stuff I needed the vacuum to pick up wasn’t large at all. The size of maybe a pea or bit smaller and vacuum pushes it. Either on hardwood or carpet it does the same. I guess I expect it to pickup more then just lint etc.
I do like to convenience of not having to plug it in. But, surely not for a lot of cleaning time. The battery dyings down to fast. But, I love the WYZE company and it’s their first vacuum. So, I will roll with it.
Seriously? Don’t they still have vacuums available for sell? It’s convenient for at least the hose for corners etc without having to get a cord plugged in.
Figured you were unhappy, and maybe would sell cheaper than new. That’s all. Looking for one for cleaning up the car. My son throws food EVERYWHERE!
The rings I got from McMaster-Carr are to long. I do not recommend them.
I ordered a set from lachlan6
I just ordered your 2 pack
Thanks, Let me know how they work for you.
This is exactly what happened to mine. I dropped it in the trash can while dumping it in the trash can and even noticed that it was missing until 2 weeks later when there was no suction at all. I have been using Painter’s tape to seal since then which is not the best solution.
The vacuum is really poorly designed. The ring came off really easily. The vacuum works okay on rugs and carpets but really fails on hard surfaces.
thanks for the replacement part info.
Wyze need to at least provide the replacement gasket (to buy) if they are not fixing the problem for good.
I discovered my gasket was missing and contacted support 10 days ago. They very quickly processed a replacement and I got an order confirmation later that afternoon with a $0 amount. The order initially showed up under my account as “preparing to ship”. I just tracked it 2 days ago and somehow my order is gone from my account page. I contacted support back to get an update on my order and they just told me the part is on backorder and they would be sending it as soon as they get them. I’m still skeptical that I won’t actually get it since I have no way of tracking my order now.
At this point I would pay for a gasket if I knew for a fact it would fit. Seems like some people who order the compatible gaskets are saying they don’t fit right.
My gasket from ideaxtruder (via Etsy) has arrived a few minutes ago.
I tried to fix it but seems like it leaves some gap. Maybe I am not fixing it the right way. I will try again later.
Maybe I will order again and this time it will be white, I need this vacuum to work and cannot wait for Wyze to fix it.
Don’t hesitate to message me if you need help. Also keep in mind it isn’t a replica of the original. The key element is that brim that sticks out creating a seal with the clear part of the container. I am not saying there couldn’t be a problem 3D printing can produce flaws so message me on Etsy if there is a problem and we will figure it out.
Just as a note. IdeaXtruder is not my day job it is just a hobby. But it takes a considerable amount of time and effort at this point. If there is a cheaper/better solution I am happy to be put out of business. I just make things to solve problems I and other experience. I hope people understand that and never think I am trying to take advantage of anyone. Also if something I make has problems I really do want to fix it. It is just sometimes difficult if I can not reproduce it myself so any details about the problem are very helpful.
Wow, I was just having this problem and found this thread. Nice work @lachlan6 on the ingenuity.
FWIW, I contacted Wyze customer support and they are sending a replacement gasket at no cost. I’ll report back if there’s a problem, but they seemed to be aware of the issue and have a fix in place. And I’ll use others’ tips to dab it with super glue when I put it in. Thanks everyone.
