Can the doorbell ring a special ring when a camera detects a vehicle?

I would like to see my doorbell ring a selected doorbell tone when a vehicle is detected in my driveway. I would help alert me when people arrive… especially when it isn’t expected. Can this be done?

I’m not aware of a way to accomplish this natively, but there’s a Wishlist topic that seems relevant:

Feel free to visit that, hit the Vote button above the initial post, and share your ideas/use cases in the comments.

Also in that topic is a description and link to a work-around that involves Google Home/Nest smart speakers. I don’t know, though, if Video Doorbell Pro (as you tagged this topic) can act as a Routine Starter in Google Home in the way Cam v3 is described as doing that in the linked instructions. This situation might require a Wyze Plug as part of the work-around. That’s what I use to get Google Home to announce button presses from my Video Doorbell v2.

There will be a solution available for this soon.

Wyze recently launched a new chime product they call the Wi-Fi Chime. It will allow you to link this new chime to any Video Doorbell and make different chimes for any detection you want, including a different chime when it detects a vehicle. I use different sounds for a button press vs person detected vs package detected vs pet detected. It’s been pretty cool.

They indicated they will sell this device separately starting early this year sometime.

Alternatively, there are some ways to do something similar with Alexa or Google speakers, but they are a little more complicated at the moment since those don’t natively support vehicle detection as a trigger.

Oh, yeah. Good call. The last time I recall seeing something about independent availability of Wi-Fi Chime (without buying Duo Cam Doorbell), they gave an optimistic ETA of December (2024):

I guess we can watch and wait for that one!
