Cameras no longer connect away from home

Appreciate everyone sharig their experiences with this problem and suggestions. However it would be nice to have a rep from Wyze chime in to acknowledge an issue and possibly looking into a solution.
Really don’t think it should be up to the customer to spend time diagnosing and finding a solution to a problem with their product.
Personally I use my cams to keep an eye on my 98 year dad when I’m not there. Knowing this is an issue is really not assuring.

After toggling the on/off stream loads instantly.

Having the same issue with my camera, I have a mix of og and V2 cams as a hard wire door bell. On my home wifi works perfect, switch to mobile wont connect unless I restart the cams. Wyze web live works fine

It doesn’t matter if I am on cellular or another wifi network, same result does not connect. Turned off cellular network and only used my home network. Only connects after toggling or restarting camera. Obviously the cameras are connected to network in order to receive restart command.
Home speedtest.

Even though your cellular speed is good, the speed test shows “lite” instead of 5g or 4g which will make a connection very slow. Maybe so slow the Wyze connection can’t be made. Do you have another high speed Wifi connection you can connect to… like a friend, neighbor or family member? And try it from there?

How many “Steps” does it go through before it stops? Do you have a screenshot of it after it stops and doesn’t load?

I do have 5G but I had it set to LTE because that’s what Verizon suggested because by my house 5G is spotty. I do have WiFi at home and when I’m on that, all my cameras load live views. It’s once I leave my house and I disconnect from my home Wi-Fi that I have the issues pulling up live views. What is frustrating is a friend of mine. Has four wise cameras that he has shared with me and I can pull up live views on all four of those whether I’m home or away from home. And they are the exact same cameras, this is getting really frustrating and not having any response from wyze is even more frustrating as this is their product .

Thank you for trying to help.

Here is a history of my Speed Test. Now mind you I’m getting this error as I’m sitting in my house right next to my Wi-Fi connection and all my cameras. I see people commenting about how they turn their cameras off and turn them back on and then they work well I have nine cameras and they’re scattered all around my property And I can’t just run out and turn them all off and turn them all back on every time. This happens and I’m not going to. This is getting ridiculous that Wyze is not doing anything or even responding. Obviously, there are many people that are having the same issue . I resubscribed to the Cam Plus thinking that it would help but it has not so now I’ve paid for a subscription for a service that I can’t even get.

And here is a screenshot of one of the errors I get. It is different errors all the time. Sometimes I get the green ball that says loading and it will try three times and then time out and tell me that it’s either lost its connection or to move closer to my router. I had some screenshots of those and deleted them because I’m getting very frustrated with this whole thing. Like I said, I hadn’t had any issues with anything up until recently. I would charge them, put them all in their spots and never thought about anything until they had to be charged again. I could pull up live views all the time whether I was home or away on Wi-Fi or on cellular and now, it’s very rare that I can pull up a view. And that kind of defeats the purpose of having cameras at your house. I have recommended their product to many many people because I was very happy with them but believe me, I will be telling many many people that their customer service is poor, and that their cameras Are not doing what they should be doing.

“Do you have another high speed Wifi connection you can connect to… like a friend, neighbor or family member? And try it from there while connected to their Wifi?”

Next, do you have any of your cameras that are shared? If you don’t, share one & see if that other person can see your camera from their Wifi.

I agree that Wyze Support should be trying to resolve this issue. I am beyond frustrated with these cameras.

I get this same error also.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my v2, v3, Pan 3, and V4 cameras. The only way to view my live feed is to restart the camera through the app. This issue has nothing to do with download or upload speed, as I’ve tested it on a connection ranging from 3000 Mbps up to 250 Mbps. I’ve also tested the issue on both iPhone and Android devices, using various internet connections, including cellular, fiber, cable, and ADSL, and the problem persists

My wife cant view cameras when not at home however I can .
I am sharing the devices with her. Is this a common issue?

It shouldn’t be an issue normally. Can you see your cams outside the house?

Frustrating! I just don’t understand how these cameras can work fine for years and then so many people start to have issues. It infuriates me that Wyze just ignores the problem.

They haven’t ignored it they just don’t know how to fix it yet.

Well, my project of replacing all of my 9 Wyze camera’s with another brand begins today. Months of fiddling around trying to get my Wyze cams to work like they did for years without issue has come to an end. Toggling cams on/off button to get livestream has come to an end. My cam plus sub will come to an end.

Waiting months is more than a fair amount of time for a solution to be provided from Wyze. Only conclusion I can come to is that Wyze doesn’t care about it’s customers.

Thanks to everyone who offered help in these forums.

Good luck with whatever new cams you install. If I couldn’t view my cameras from remote locations I would do the same thing.

Best of luck. I would be curious on what you find as a better solution.

My cam is offline whenever I go out of town. How can I secure my home then?
