Here’s a known issue. It’s been going on since the V2 firmware update version before the last one. This is what my log looks like going back a couple months. Support has been no help.

Sorry about the inconvenience , what support did you looking for and got no response? Can you submit a log and let me know the ticket number, Also can you email to abao@wyze.com let me know your Wyze account and the name of the rule has issue, Thanks!

I started the Firmware update for my V2, checked a text, came back and the App did not show a successful update, plus could not connect to the camera. I had to unplug the V2. After it was ready, the Firmware was showing the new version and I could connect again.

Latest firmware bricked my camera with my bridge so now all sensors are offline. Sent message to support.

5 cams are dead. thanks!

One restored using article – https://support.wyzecam.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031490871-How-to-flash-firmware-manually

After leaving the bricked camera overnight, it seems to be working fine and the firmware now shows it is in the most current. This seems to fall in line with another user’s experience earlier in this thread.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that. Could you provide more information on your camera and bridge status? What are the LED status of those devices?

Sorry to hear that. Are you seeing “solid yellow” LED on those cameras? Could you PM me your email that associated with your Wyze account?

No, cameras have blinking blue light. I’ve recovered three out five cameras already to older firmware. And they are working.

Flashing blue means the camera is trying to connect to the Wyze server. May I ask that did you try to upgrade all together? Are they V2s? If you don’t mind, could you try to upgrade the firmware for just one camera to see if it can be successfully upgraded? I am asking because I am chasing after a potential bug that may related to upgrade all at once.

Yes, I started upgrade all at once. All five are V2 cams.

Hmm – interesting, I can see all cameras are connected to wifi and responding to pings.

One camera upgrade successful. Selected upgrade from popup window.
Now upgrading second one from upgrade all window, but selecting only a single camera.

Let me know if you need anything else. Should I keep others (hard to reach for recovery) overnight and will they recover, or do I need to get ladder and deal with this tomorrow?

Thanks.

UPDATE: three two cameras restored and updated to latest firmware one-by-one. Perhaps I hit your mystery bug. let me know if you need any information about them.
Third camera didn’t update — and still blinking blue: see ticket number 44797 if that will help you.

Let me summarize our situation here:
2 out of 5 V2s are working fine now. They are on .188 (from individual upgrade).
3 out of 5 V2s are still flashing blue. 2 out of these 3 failed from upgrade all and 1 failed from individual upgrade.

Am I right?
My suggestion is let’s leave them there over night to see if they will automatically recover tomorrow morning. I will talk to the developers tonight to see if there are any steps that you could help us to further debug if they are not recovered by tomorrow.

I really appreciate that you are sharing those information with us. Thank you for your patience and thank you in advance for helping me further debugging.

Isn’t this what beta for? You’re welcome.

On the phone with developers talking about this issue. The developers wonder if you could help us get the log from a SD card? To do that - can you pop out SD card and re-insert into the camera? After two chime sound you can take out the SD card. On a PC/Mac with a SD card adapter, please put your card inside and send me the log_XXXX.txt file under SD card root directory. Thank you very much for your help! We are ready to investigate the file.

How long should it take to write the log? After about 2 minutes it didn’t chime.

Sorry I wasn’t clear on the last post. Please do that with the new flashing blue V2. it may take longer so give it 15 mins max. The chimes is just a “ding-ding” sound.

How can I send the log to you? Cannot upload to forum :frowning: it doesn’t accept .txt extension.
