Cam Unlimited cancelled yet charged anyway

Not sure what’s going on. I cancelled my Cam Unlimited subscription a bay before renewal. Wyze charged me anyway.
What are the odds they’ll reverse that charge?
Will I need to dispute this, or tell my bank to reverse the charge as fraud?

What did Support say when you contacted them directly? That would be my first step with a billing issue.

Agreed, step 1: Contact support about the issue and see if they’ll give you a refund.

If they don’t refund you, then step 2, post your support ticket number in here along with what they said as a response and let us know so we can escalate it to someone.

Step 3 would be to consider a reversal if the first 2 steps don’t work. Being a business owner myself, I can tell you that I usually win payment reversal disputes if I actually take the time to contest them. If you want to make sure your payment dispute goes through, you need to give the merchant a chance to handle it through normal processes, then you can present the evidence or documentation that you tried to handle things correctly and this reversal is simply your last resort. Then you have a good chance at winning even if the merchant contests the reversal.

Note that if you ordered the subscription through the app instead of through the Wyze website, it might not even be Wyze who is charging you. It could be Google or Apple since they handle all App subscriptions. In that case, you may need to talk to Apple or Google Support if they are the ones who charged it (they don’t give app merchants the ability to apply credits for any subscriptions charged through the app).

Happened to me not to long ago. Contacted support and they refunded the money right away.

I was told no. They don’t provide refunds.

Glad you got a resolution.

Just for future reference, whenever you open an e-mail ticket with Wyze Support now, the initial response always seems to be from “Wyze-E”, which is the bot. If you reply to that message, then a human agent will respond. Since their full-page ticket submission form is no longer accessible, my usual process is to be brief when I open a ticket (the space is limited, anyway) and include a Log ID if it’s relevant and I have one, then wait for the Wyze-E bot’s e-mail, and then write about my issue in detail, because that’s when a human will actually read it.

Also, the bot was technically correct in the response that you posted, but that wasn’t really the best answer in your case, where you initially said that you canceled prior to a renewal date, so clearly the AI needs more training.
