I have noticed some Wyze devices (switch and now BR30 bulbs) will not pair (add device) with my Android 14 phone. However, they did pair and I could use add device with an iPhone. Has to be some sort of setting on my Android phone. (Wyze cameras will pair with the same Android phone).
When I’ve had issues like this (and they can be frustrating; my most recent experience was trying to add an original Wyze Plug back into the Wyze app), I’ve sometimes had to resort to using an older phone (one of the things I tried in my Plug situation), but I think the key thing was making the 5 GHz radio from my dual-band gateway completely unavailable so that the phone was forced to use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which is the only frequency the Plug (and Bulbs) can use.
I don’t use iOS and haven’t identified anything specific with newer versions of Android that might cause problems. (The device I used to get my Plug back online was running Android 13.) It stinks to have to fall back to using a non-preferred device for the installation, but at least once it’s set up in the app the device should be available for you to control with your Android 14 phone.
I don’t have any other suggestion aside from forcing the phone’s Wi-Fi connection, and I’m interested in what other community members might have to offer.
