I lived in Florida for over 60+ years. So the answer is yes.
Cooked out dinner on my bbq grill on a nice night. Rained for 45 minutes afterwards. Not raining now. Neighbors went back to their outside party. It’s a tropical storm. It might reach cat 1 when it comes ashore. No panic in the streets. The canals do a great job.
60+ years. Whew, good for you - i guess.
How’s the storm damage where you’re at. Got a buddy in Sarasota and his house is the only one not flooded ( he built on a man made 12 ft mound and set the home on driven piles.) but he’s got a moat now, so that’s (in his words - a benefit).
Our lake place on Istokpoga is fine it’s 57 ft above sea level.
Yeah. Lived a good life. Spent time in Tennessee, Maryland and multiple cities in Florida including the Florida Keys. Seen all 50 US States and a few Canadian Provinces. Yep. I am old, but healthy. Dad is healthy at 92 years of age.
No damage on my side of the state. A little rain before, during and after. No flooding or damage. Still spent time in the pool. I am at 9.5 ft above sea level. The west coast and Big Bend area got hit hard. A few people died.
Wow. 57 feet sounds high for Florida. (Drove through Everglades National Park and saw a sign that read “1 foot above sea level”.)
Spent some time at Lake Istopoaga many years ago as a younster. Very nice.
p.s. I did visit a beach at 1400 feet below sea level in 2023. Speaking of sea levels.
