I did not do any uninstall and reinstall. refresh, clear cache etc…
Today, notification is back.
I believe it is pointing to Wyze was playing with their servers. All the mysterious, miserable issues might have been Wyze behind server monkeying.

Nope, still not working. Try doing it after you phone locks for a few minutes.
Come on Wyze, are you looking into this ???
I’m finding the same things. Nothing after phone lock is on for a few mins. Time to send more logs to Wyze team and open yet another ticket.
Before the phone goes into lock mode, do you fully close out the app ( minimize and then ‘swipe’ it away to dismiss it ) or is it just minimized ( switch to another app ) or do you leave it with full screen focus ?
Anyhow, on Android 9 running Wyze v 2.11.40, I am having better luck getting notifications when the app is just minimized and not completely closed out.
@sodcam…do you get notifications when your phone has been locked for a few minutes though?? I get none after lock has been set for a few mins…no difference whether Wyze app is left on full screen or left running in the background or swiped off to the left ( but not forced off). Thing is, all my other notifications still work with locked screen regardless whether the app is swiped to the left or full screen…
I was mainly looking to see if the iPhone and Samsung behaved the same way, so I tested them app-minimized for about 10 min, and app-completely-closed about 5 min. And then I had to leave.
But just now I opened the iPhone to see the time span between notices, and suddenly the app-closed Samsung on the table sounds off an alert - for a Wyze motion event 30 minutes ago - which was about 15 mins after I locked the screen on it. Which I think others have reported?
So, yes, something is definitely going on!
You can help with this since your Skybell app notifs break through the screen saver or doze mode. it would be much appreciated if you could do a side-by-side comparison of different settings on both the Skybell and Wyze apps, ex:
Battery optimization setting:
Background data/Unrestricted data setting:
Allowed app permissions:
If you can think of any more settings to compare (or anyone in the forum verse) between the apps please chime in.
Android version/phone type?
Just looking to data collect and see if there are any best practice that’ll work for Wyze users to get this not be an issue. Any help will be much appreciated. Searching the googs shows many pages that talk about the Android notification lag and the different ways to try and defeat it from a device user standpoint. I wish I knew what say Skybell did and Wyze didn’t, or vise versa to allow notifications to work or not. Thanks in advance.
That’s why I send logs to Wyze to every day this condition persists. After trying many permutations and settings, falling short of a factory reset of my phone which for troubleshooting one app, I will not do. Wyze devs need to do their homework on this…it seems many folks are experiencing the issue and there are many different devices.I assume the logs Wyze gets provide them with required data but I have no idea if they get read.
My phone settings are basic while I’ve been exploring this problem, all l apps have full notification permissions no battery savers are turned on. no background data restrictions. Samsung galaxy s7, android 8… wyze app is up to date as is the firmware in all my wyze devices. Power cycling cameras, uninstalling and reinstalling apps…even if it works for a while is a temporary band aid and not a proper solution…that has not worked for me either. Theres been no word from Wyze on this that I’m aware of…who knows if they are even paying attention.
Am now on app version 2.11.40…no change.
yeah, my app got updated but no changes on the problem.
A few minutes ago, my ignored-for-hours Android phone on the desk sounded off two alerts in very quick succession. Turns out they were Wyze alerts - one for an event 30 mins ago, and the other for an event an hour and forty five minutes ago. I could almost wonder if they do all of their notification mailing in batches? Or maybe the AT&T hotspot does?
( Wyze app was just minimized, not fully closed out)
