Nice… already available in Google Play Store, Apple App Store and TestFlight. Applied apps and firmware to all of my devices and working well so far.

When will the V3 firmware be available via the download page? I have a cam that requires manual updating.
I tried creating my own URL, but it does not work:

I just updated Three V3 Pros, Ten V3s, and one V4 (one at a time). All went well, hoping for a solid firmware/Android App release! Thanks WyzeJasonJ!

Would it work to manually flash update to a previous firmware version in this branch and then do OTA to this new version?

Could be a workaround, though I agree that they should just add the new one to the website for downloading. I have just noticed that they haven’t been making firmware downloads available for most devices starting this year, so I don’t have high hopes of that changing quickly and think a work around to an earlier version might be the only option.

This particular v3 camera has had issues for several years. I have tried everything one can possible try. I even worked with support and this forum back in the day. For the past couple of years (or more) I always try installing over the air first. The camera goes offline and never comes back. I have to power the camera off, then power it on for it to come online again. I then manually install the update.

I do not mind doing this for this particular camera as it is super easy to get to. Initially it was not, but I swapped camera locations around such that this problematic camera is now easy to deal with.

Including this one, the last two V3 releases have not been available for download when the firmware announcement was made. Last time, creating a URL allowed for downloading the firmware. I now see the previous release (version 4.36.16.5654) has vanished from the release notes section all together. In any case, hopefully WYZE can do better and get back into the routine of making the firmware available for download when the release announcement occurs.

It would also be nice to know WHY releases are pulled from the download page. However, based on nearly 8 years of experience in dealing with WYZE, I know that is asking and expecting far too much from them. From my perspective, accountability is not their strong suite.

I am confused.. why is the firmware not available to download?

Are your ten v3 cameras on firmware 4.36.16.6114 working well on App version 3.10 or the new App version 3.11?

Per the release notes, one must have app version 3.11 in order to install the latest V3 firmware discussed in this thread.

For me, the firmware was not offered in the app until I updated the app to version 3.11.

Are you giving a Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down to the v3 firmware 4.36.16.6114 with App version 3.11?

I put on the new 3.11 android app too. Seemed to do OK overnight. Fingers crossed

With the features I use, everything is working fine. I do not use groups or the website for camera viewing.

I live stream, record to micro-SD, record videos to my phone from micro-SD, use detection zones, and have notifications configured.

You are 100% spot on with this. I called WYZE support this morning. I was on the phone with them for over 90 minutes. [Wyze Ticket 4862153] I even spoke with an escalation technician. There is NO WAY to download or even obtain the current firmware in file form anymore. WYZE may eventually make it available, but the support center has no idea if or when that will happen. I was told that they make previous releases available for download, but not the current release.

When I questioned why the previous v3 firmware release version 4.36.16.5654 is no longer listed on their Release Notes & Firmware page and therefore is not available for download; I was told it is no longer listed because it was buggy and replaced with the current firmware. How do you like that circular logic? After all, every previous version of firmware had bugs and was replaced with the next version. :man_shrugging:

One can honestly say that WYZE is truly hiding information from their customers by completely pulling releases from their official documentation as if the release never existed. Reputable companies would never do such a thing! An honest company would simply add a note about the “bad” release and ensure the firmware was no longer available for download. (WYZE has the no longer available for download bit covered!)

Furthermore, I was told that support could not send the current ZIP file for the latest firmware via email because the engineering team will not provide the file to the support team. Over the air is now the only way to get the latest firmware on a v3 camera. (Likely other cameras versions as well.)

Instead of providing the ZIP file for the latest version of firmware, support plans to issue a $10 credit to my WYZE account for the camera that will not update OTA.

I know that specific cam is defective and has been for years. It will not update OTA so I have been manually flashing it. Since WYZE support could/would not guarantee that they will ever publish the firmware for download, I factory reset it, snipped the end off the cord hanging from the cam, and then tossed in the trash. Fortunately, I had another spare v3 that I used to replace it. Of course my spare updated its firmware OTA without a problem.

During my long conversation with support, I also learned that WYZE is no longer manufacturing v3 cameras. Once they are sold out, that’s the end of it. So for anyone that wants a v3, you better get your order in while supplies last.

It is nice that WYZE plans to issue me a $10 credit for a 5-year old defective camera. With that said, they could have saved 90+ minutes on the phone and $10 by simply providing the latest firmware ZIP file.

I don’t get it, but WYZE never ceases to amaze.
:exploding_head:

Welcome to the forums. That is a great question! With that said, please do not expect an answer from anyone that works for WYZE. The latest firmware has ALWAYS been available for download until this year.

WYZE likes to make changes and then never explain why. Maybe they will eventually claim this change occurred based on a wish list item that was backed by less than 100 people?

I updated my devices to App version 3.11, (Android and IOS) then one at a time (Not bulk update) updated my five v3 cameras to firmware 4.36.16.6114.

I don’t do detection zones or rules, just Live View, SD card Playback and view Cloud Event Videos. All of these are working fine for me.

I do have one old tablet that will not update higher than Android 9, so I am keeping it around using App version 2.50 because Cloud Event Video viewing still works.

Good luck and please let us know what they tell you.

Anyone else having the same problem since latest firmware and app fix

I thought everything was fixed after Wyze released the new firmware and app to sort out the video streaming problem we have had for the past few weeks BUT…

Even though everything seemed ok I now find that the app has a problem

When I have had notifications for events, I usually go to the home screen and tap the events button which takes me to the events page.

Viewing each event on the list is not a problem but when I come to delete the list of events I find that after tapping the pencil icon and then tapping " select all" the events may all be selected or not selected at all.

If they are all selected and I tap the delete button, they may be deleted or they. may not be deleted. If they are not deleted then the delete button is greyed out and/or the “unselect” button is greyed out (or it might not be greyed out but it is not working)

If I tap the pencil icon I can select each event manually one at a time ( or sometimes I cannot select them all).

If I manually select them all they mostly can be deleted using the delete button … but not always.

All this is difficult to explain as the behaviour is variable

I am using the latest Android update and have done the usual force stopping the app and clearing the cache and restarting my phone.

Is anyone else having similar problems?
