App and Firmware updates - Released 8/11/2026

Glad that you are on top of it, as I believe overall, companies SHOULD make it known to customers, that when on of their products hits “End of Life” EOF, support, the companies should make their customers aware of the risk. I actually believe this SHOULD be a government mandate, that companies have to notify users, that there will be security risks, with older hardware that is no longer updated, or supported. Microsoft lets users know, that now that Windows 10 is no longer supported or receiving patches/security patches ( unless you pay for extended support) you will be more at risk of a security incident.

If this was mandated, I believe this alone would increase many users, and companies security, and reduce risks.

It be a big step, in overall security for everyone
Hackers use Old unsupported routers, as “jump points” for their hacking utilities, bots etc.

For me I have 2 routers I have to upgrade in then next 3-5 months as they are now considered old, (Mfg 2019) and are at the end of life support/patches.

I don’t want to buy a TP-Link router, ( which is what is MOSTLY sold on Amazon) because of the China threats/security risks- which even the U.S. government is mandating they no longer be used within any government agencies.

The FCC Banned New Foreign-Made Wi-Fi Routers. Here’s What That Means.

Overall what is odd, is that there are not many NON TPLink routers /companies left, so China is dominating the router/wireless router/ Access point market.

2 Floodlight v1’s not playing from sd card correctly

I have 2 original floodlights that since the latest firmware update 4.36.17.10 or app update 3.19.0.17 will not play video on sd card at normal speed. If it plays at all it skips by the minute for a few minutes and then just goes to the last minute and freezes. Both floodlights are doing this and were working fine last week. Standalone cameras v2,v3,v4 are working fine.

It does the same thing for me on Samsung S22 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8+. Cameras are at firmware version 4.36.17.10 and app version 3.19.0 (935).

Same here. I have four V1 floodlights that all have sd card playback issues with the latest iPhone app and firmware. Cameras are set to record events only. One shows no recordings in the timeline, the other three show some recordings, but not all the events that get uploaded to the cloud. Playback rarely works on the events I do see.

App update still has issue noted:

Wyze Thermostat Not Loading After App 3.19.0 Update — Fixed on Android 16

I had an issue where my Wyze Thermostat stopped loading in the Wyze Android app after updating to version 3.19.0.

I’m using Android 16. The physical thermostat continued working normally and all my other Wyze devices were working in the app.

I tried with no luck:

Clearing the Wyze app cache

Rebooting my phone

Rebooting the thermostat

Rebooting my router

Using cellular data instead of Wi-Fi

Unistall and reinstall app with latest version.

Tested:

Used another Android device will older version Wyze app and thermostat loaded ok. This verified that the issue was related to recent release version of app with android 16.

What fixed it:

I rolled the Wyze Android app back to version 3.18.0.918.

Wyze’s official release notes show 3.18.0.918 was released July 23, 2026.

I downloaded the unmodified Wyze 3.18.0.918 APK bundle from APKMirror. The package was:

com.hualai

Wyze Labs Inc.

Version 3.18.0.918

Because it was an .apkm bundle, I used APKMirror Installer to install it.

After installing 3.18.0.918 and signing back into the same Wyze account, the Thermostat loaded normally again.

Important

I did not:

Factory-reset the thermostat

Remove/re-add the thermostat

Delete any cameras or other Wyze devices

Delete my Wyze account

Good news:

My automations, schedules, cameras, plugs, and other devices remained associated with my account.

So, on my Android 16 phone, rolling back from Wyze 3.19.0 to 3.18.0.918 fixed the thermostat loading problem.

Hopefully this helps anyone else experiencing the same issue after the 3.19.0 update.

WYZE: It would be beneficial to make the previous version readily accessible for individuals experiencing difficulties. I encountered considerable trouble researching and locating an official prior version. I was reluctant to install the Wyze app from an unofficial source, but I had no alternative as I required remote control of my thermostat via the Wyze app.

Please share if your having issue with the thermostat after this update.

Hmmm.

Android 17, Pixel 7Pro.
Wyze app 3.19.0 (935)

Thermostat loaded fine and quick.

I just tried with the latest Beta app

v3.20.0 (b936)

and I have full control of my Thermostat. So maybe they fixed whatever problem you were having, or the problem was related to some other variable (OS version or phone model conflict, etc that isn’t affecting me)

I’m using a Pixel 10 Pro XL on the new Android 17.

2 v1 floodlights.
One plays SD card fine, the other looks as if there is no recordings on the SD card at all.
FW 4.36.16.7064
Android 17
App 3.19.0 (935)

Card was a 128, tried a re-format, and it is having problems.
First it formatted, but said “Storage capacity unavailable”
So formatted it again, same thing.
The one that is working is a 32 GB.
My Mac can read the card, but it seems to have stopped recording a while back, and it can’t format it using Disk Utility.
Thought there was a problem, tried to scan and fix, it says write protected.
Turns out, the card itself died, but you can still get to the data that was still there, it was just last recorded about a couple of weeks ago.

4 years of continuous recording and hasn’t died yet, :raccoon: approvved, but is over 3x the price I paid for them, the 256 GB card are about 5X the price I paid previously.

Wyze Flood Cam V3 Records Events Fine, but when Switch to Continuous SD Card, Jumps forward at various speeds

I have had a Wyze Flood Cam V3 for years with no problems. I have it recording to SD Card and it’s been fine. It is set to Continuous Record. Recently, I notice when I change to SD card despite recording fine for the Events, the Continuous SD Card Play plays fast and jumps around at various speeds. I don’t see any way to change speed(I remember there being a way to do this at one time) and I tried formatting the SD Card to no avail. This happens on both IOS and Android. Any help would be appreciated.

Changed one of the floodlight cameras from events only to continuous, and now that one essentially plays as a time lapse. It looks like I get one frame played back for every minute of recording. Still have to get the card out of it to see if it is a playback issue or recording issue.

Welcome to the Forum, @WyzzGuy!

What app and firmware versions are you using? You may be experiencing what another user is describing in this topic:

If your app and firmware versions correspond to those, then a Moderator can merge this topic into that one for better visibility to Wyze. You may also wish to submit an app log and post the Log ID for further investigation.

Yes. It corresponds

My app log ID is 2523045

Thank you!

I moved it, and you’re welcome. Hopefully this will help them identify and remedy the issue.

I’m having same problem on two floodlights. They said it was a known issue and gave me firmware version 4.36.16.7064 instead of 4.36.17.10 (the problem version) and it fixed one of mine. Waiting for them to push it out to my other one. You’ll need to create a support ticket to get the firmware or wait for them to fix the issue.

Good to know, thanks. I mistakenly thought we were through with these buggy firmware updates and updated all of my cameras instead of just one.

How did you go about creating a support ticket.? I chatted with their bot and was told I had to do the downgrade manually, they couldn’t send it out through the cloud.

I think the bot finally gave up on me and let me create a ticket.

A dude from work just had a Samsung SSD belly up on him. It’s still under warranty and he started the claim. He looked into pricing on his drive. He pad around $300 last year. The same drive is now going for over $1,000.00.

Thank you AI.
