I never saw myself looking to order an air purifier, but the wife says she wants a couple of them.
So obviously being as invested in Wyze as I currently am with everything else, the Wyze air purifier would be one that I would consider.
If you have an air purifier from Wyze, would you buy it again or would you look at other brands?
It’s pretty good. And there are generic filters that fit in the wyze purifiers, making them fairly safe long term.
For the most part, I just leave my air purifiers on automatic and leave them alone for a long time and it works great.
I do have one air purifier set up with an Alexa routine, where it temporarily turns the air purifier to turbo mode when a motion sensor near the diaper pail is triggered . That works pretty well.
The main complaints I’ve seen are:
- the AQI history graph doesn’t work more often than it does work, and when it does work out only shows the current day since midnight.
- some air purifiers lose connection and require manual intervention to connect again (sometimes all you have to do is unplug it and plug it back in and it will reconnect, but sometimes you have to hold down two buttons and go through setup again to Reconnect it to the Wi-Fi from scratch). Should be mentioned that even if it is offline, it still continues to work offline when set to automatic or pressing the buttons on the unit directly. This happens to one of mine every couple/few months, but not usually with the others I have.
The above issues are a deal breaker for some people.
Overall, I’m happy with them. I’ve had air purifiers from a couple of other brands and so far I’ve liked these ones the best especially for everything they offer at the price they offer it. If I could find one for about the same price that includes everything this does including affordable air filters, but supports home assistant, then I would quite possibly switch to the one that supports home assistant if I was buying the new one.
I would not. It works, but it loses connection to the app every other day and says it’s offline. It will still work, but I can’t review the history or the current status if I’m away from home when it loses connection.
Reconnecting is a pain. I have 2 of them, bought during the pre sale, but I wish I’d have waited to see what others experienced. I likely wouldn’t have bought them and went with something else. For reference the disconnect issue has been going on since I purchased it (and if you search the forums, you’ll see many others experiencing the same). Still no resolution from Wyze.
Now, if you don’t care about viewing it in the app and just want something that works then you’d do fine with them.

I agree. I got a new one only by pestering then and the new one does the same thing. It’s the last firmware update, they know it’s bad but won’t fix it. Nor can you roll it back to previous firmware.
