An outdoor POE Satellite would be good
I would like the capability to control the router from at least 2 different devices. Right now my wife has control because she is home the most. She can easily turn off the internet when she leaves the boy at home. I donāt have that option. All I can do is unplug it. Unless Iām missing something?
Also we have an HP Laserjet printer that refuses to connect. Iām not quite sure why. I tried rolling back to WPA 2 but it still wont connect. It worked fine with the old router.
I also would like to be able to roll back to WEP for the guest network so the boy can connect his Nintendo DS. Maybe WEP would help the printer?
Create Network Tab in Wyze App
Please create a tab in the app for Network, it would make the router product feel more polished than having to click into the router in the product list.
Account tab could be turned into an icon on the top right of the app similar to many other platforms and a Network tab could be added for those using the mesh routers.
Eero has some of these features behind a subscription and its not very bothersome, i think subs are the bigger income for wyze and not the hardwareā¦if it made the features happen id pay the sub too, itād likely be cheaper than eero
Mods: Move this where you see fit.
This will make some people happy and others frustrated. I know this has been a topic of conversation here for a while. Move/assign a device to a specific node. I too want to assign a device to a specific node to improve its signal. I found I could. I was not expecting this - feature. (Good thing.) This is a feature, I have never seen on a router before.
I often get bored and want to try different stuff. I just bought a TP-Link Deco XE-75 Mesh router, (2 node pak). (I need one that supports more than 140 devices) Got it yesterday and set it up. IN THE APP, you can assign user-friendly names to device after you ID them maybe via MAC address. Did that.
But once you open that client to rename it, thereās a choice - on each client - called
Connection Preference. Opened it. And are setting choices for which router node and which band.
I started stepping through those clients (Wyze cams) physically located closer to one node that had only a few clients anyway. I could change from āAutoā, to the node I wanted it. And after a few minutes, they move to the closer router node. (Thereās a note at the bottom, that says, āThis client will ONLY connect to xxxx Deco.ā)
And under the Preferred Wi-Fi Band section; I could move some devices that connected to 2.4 GHz such as TV and Amazon devices, to the 5 GHz band and reduce the 2.4 GHz band traffic. Maybe this helped over all 2.4 traffic and those cameras too.
This mesh router has merged 2.4 & 5 together. Canāt separate them. But if the device is on my network, or comes on my network, I can even if offline, select the band I want it to use. The choices are: Auto - This client will automatically connect to the best Wi-Fi band. Or (select one of the others, 2,4, 5 or 6, GHz āThis client will ONLY connect to the xxx Wi-Fi. Make sure the client supports xxx GHz Wi-Fi, or it will not be able to connect to the Deco network.ā
I have some Alexa routines set on a schedule, to show my Wyze cams. A couple of cams donāt display. As the routine is running, Alexa produces a message, ācheck power on āsuch-n-suchā camera it did not displayā When I go to the Wyze app, all is good. So, whatās the problem? I donāt know. BUT after changing the node that these two cameras are now connected, those cameras are displaying when the routine runs? I can only guess that moving these two camera - being able to reassign these two cameras to a closer router node has already made a difference.
Expand parental controls for router pro
Is there any chance you could expand parental controls for router pro? I would like to set up time schedules and possibly restrict stuff on my childās Chromebook.
Agreed. Seriously lacking. I travel and I am not always accessible to turn on or off devices. I would have expected the pro version atleast to have some sort of parental control besides āblock this deviceā and no I am not paying for an additional service to do so. It should be baked in.
I would love more information on the āThreatsā found in the statistics section of the Wyze app. I would love to know what device on the network has been targeted or generating an outgoing communication. * Add the ability for Firedome to provide the targeted device when something is blocked from coming in. Also do the inverse, if something is blocked going out, add the device the request came from."
@spamoni will you add to the list:
- Setting toggle to get a notification whenever a new device joins the network
Someone else mentioned this on discord, I realized itās not in the list yet. This is also something I have long used on many of my previous routers and wish I could turn on with these, for example, so I would be told if my teenager is trying to sneak in a burner phone or something.
Will do it soon
Edit
Added to the list above
Mesh Router Pro Speed Test option
Can Wyze please add the function for conducting a speed test on the Network? Thank you so much!
I agree. This this needed!
Agreed. This and actual parental controls that can be scheduled.
Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I recently set up a new router on my network and relegated the Mesh Router Pros to access point status for this very reason. Your information helps me feel more confidant that I made the right decision!
Parental controls in this day and age is pretty much table steaksā¦ so where are they??? Just arbitrarily blocking a device doesnāt really work.
Thanks!

I currently use 3 Mesh Pros with one on each floor. Can we add the VPN capabilities please? Also did we ever get the ability for local storage for our Wyze cams from a connected hard drive? There are so many tech savvy individuals who use your products and without some of the most basic features you get with out of the box mesh networks I feel many will go elsewhere. Many of us have stood by your company for so long. So many people warned me and others that new features would never come to fruition for the Wyze Mesh products. Please donāt make us get rid of Wyze Mesh products for the competition.
Welcome to the Wyze User Community Forum @KnightSky!
did we ever get the ability for local storage for our Wyze cams from a connected hard drive?
No. The USB port is still Power Only, no Data.
A recent AMA event with Wyze addressed this and was posted above:
I asked about this in the recent AMA and thought some of you would like an update:
Thanks for the response. Just very disheartening to see this happen. When they released the product I feel they pushed the marketing pretty hard and generated a good amount of excitement around it. All that to just not deliver on basic features or those already promised. I have to say this may be the thing that causes me to part ways with my 30+ Wyze products. Integrity is everything. I just hope Wyze leadership sees this and rethinks their decisions on this before itās too late for me and others like me. Sad day.
The feature for saving your videos locally from your Wyze cams onto a plugged in hard drive is still being marketed. Unfortunately that seems pretty unethical in my opinion. If promised features were never delivered then where is the trust? Where is the respect for the consumer? I just thought Wyze was a different company from the rest and Iām being proven wrong. Heartbreaking.
