I really like seeing these kinds of posts, because I think it’s something actual Wyze employees should read, as I believe they should always strive to broaden their definition of “accessible” in their own mission statement:
I don’t know how many times I’ve argued here in the Forum and elsewhere that they have plenty of room for visual improvement in the app—and I say this as a sighted person with no meaningful screen reader experience—just by increasing their use of color contrast. What you’re describing goes beyond that and would expand “accessible” in other ways, so I’d encourage you to take a look at these Wishlist topics:
You actually created this topic, but you haven’t voted for it (nor for any Wishlist topics as of this writing). I’ll wait a bit to vote for it myself so that you can have the first shot, but I’ll be happy to vote for that one even if you choose not to. I’ve bookmarked it with a reminder for my own follow-up.
As with any Wishlist topic, you can visit those to click or tap the Vote button above the initial post and share your ideas and use cases in the comments to show your support for the product and feature request/suggestions that are important to you.
FYI, as I’m reading through these other Wishlist topics, I’m thinking that we might merge your topic (Android app needs accessibility improvements for totally blind user) into Label buttons for blind android users, as those appear to be requesting the same thing. In that case, any votes your topic accumulates should be added automatically to those in the other topic when the topics are combined.
Regarding the audio with events, I wonder if the issue you’re describing is peculiar to Battery Cam Pro. I don’t have any problems unmuting events when I try, but I also don’t have a Battery Cam Pro to specifically test events generated by that device, and I’m not sure if there’s something you might need to enable in that Cam’s UI in order to ensure that it’s recording sound as you expect.
Thank you again for raising this issue. Please vote!
