Your thoughts on Wyze Webview (Beta) so far?

I can’t even get it to work on Bluestacks with my one ve with Cam +!

I have a new Doorbell Pro and Webview never gets past the spinning icon. Doorbell videos also don’t play - “No compatible source was found for this video” - but they do play for my Outdoor cam and Wyze Cam v1, which don’t work with the live stream.

HI Gerry - I’m a little confused here; are you talking about the WYZE WebView? I have three cameras (1-WYZE Outdoor Cam and 2-WYZE v3 Cams). They say that this WebView is in “beta” testing but, from my 30+years in software support, I would say it is more Alpha than Beta. Anyway, I us Firefox as my browser and I jumped when they said that Firefox was one of the supported browsers just to then change it up and say that was in the future. I think that was a sales gimmick! One of my v4’s will finally connect running on Chrome but the other one just spins its wheel. Both connected last night but, then this morning it was just the one. I don’t see any movement in their beta over the past year. What do you think? I can view all three of my cameras on my phone using TinyCam Pro but still cannot get them to connect to my PC and support is non-existent! I love the WYZE cameras but, I am trying to setup a home security system and I’m getting tired of being screwed around with false promises,
OK - I’m off my soapbox…

Hi Travelingelk,
Yes, I’m talking about the WYZE WebView. As a fellow 30+year IT person I agree that it’s more Alpha that Beta. First, I used Edge on a Windows 11 PC, then tried Firefox on Windows 10 and got a message that it’s not supported. So I tried Edge on that Windows 11 PC and had no better luck. I tried using Chrome on my phone an neither Live Stream nor Events worked. False promises indeed!

Good morning,
For some unknown reason both of my v3 cameras connected on Chrome this morning. It looks to me as though IF they ever get WebView working it is going to be a “pay-to-view” add-on. Right now you have to have CAM Plus (subscription) yo even try to get their beta! They sold a ton of CAM Outdoor and currently it is not supported. I understand that this WebView is somehow tied in with Amazon and that Amazon has put restrictions on the viewing! IF Amazon has anything to do with it, we WILL PAY! I ran the WYZE app
(RouteThis Helps app from your device’s app store.
For iOS: For Android: ) and it told me that that the reason one of my v3 cameras wasn’t working was because there were too many WiFi outlets in my area. My router is within 40 feet of the camera and has the highest signal strength of any around. Excuse? Anyway, I’ll hang in there for awhile and see what happens Anyway, in the meantime, have a good day and here is hoping that WYZE will get something done. - Hal

Gerry - I tried to get on the WYZE Forum but, as usual just like everything else WYZE does, I couldn’t figure out how to post this question. Maybe you can help. I just ended a CHAT with support and they said that the Outdoor Cam supports CAM PLUS. OK great. They say that only CAM PLUS cameras can get viewed in WebView. OK great. They say that if I have a CAM PLUS subscription on that camera I can view it on WebView. OK - great! However, on the comment when you click on Learn More it says: “We’re currently beta testing web access to Live Stream and Events with Cam Plus devices only. Please sign up for Cam Plus and assign a license to a supported device in the Wyze app to continue. Supported devices include Wyze Cam v2, Wyze Cam v3, and Wyze Cam Pan.” The Outdoor Cam is not mentioned. I pointed this out to the support and she wrote that it is supported! Now darn, which is it? I’m finally able to view WebView on Chrome and I’m thinking of adding a couple more cameras but, I want my Outdoor camera on there also. Thanks. - Hal

Hal - I saw a post on the Forum a month or 2 ago that said the Outdoor Cam will not work with WebView because it would run the battery down quickly. Also when I log into WebView it shows “Live Stream is not supported on this camera” which is my Outdoor Cam and has CAM PLUS. Does the WYZE right hand know what the left hand is doing?

This worked for me initially with some glitches. I have not been able to get it to load for a few weeks now. Similar to what the others have said, it displays a constant spinning circle. It will show events occasionally but only a portion of the video before I get an error message.
