You shouldn't delete your outdoor cam or base station from the app or you will not able to set them up again? This is Crazy

This “SHOULD” be posted somewhere in very large letters, but I don’t think it is.

I have stated from day one that there should be a big note in the box with the setup guide. The only place you will see the “Do not delete when off line” is buried here.
Second paragraph after Problem Heading:

Maybe they should add multiple, “Are you sure?” prompts to the app.

Are you sure?
Are you really, really sure?
Are absolutely postive about deleting this device?

Yes, it was very buried. I had to go back to a 2022 post to find someone who had a similar problem. What adds to the frustration is that my cameras worked fine when I bought them (before they needed the base station.) The base in my opinion has rendered them useless now.

I am an OG owner of 2 x v1 OCs and 2 x v2 OCs. I had a variant of this issue a couple years ago, but it didn’t start this way. I can’t recall exactly why I had originally called support but to fix that issue they basically told me to restart the camera/upgrade firmware/etc to fix whatever it was, which I did, but it then wouldn’t come online. After trying everything (except calling support back, which I should have done), by natural reflex I deleted the camera from the app to then re-add it, as anyone does with any normal device, so here I am with a bricked camera.

I know there’s a warning buried in the documentation about this. I had even seen it before and in the crevices of my mind I knew about it. But in the moment I forgot, and this easy mistake cost me a camera, confirmed when I did get back in touch with support.

I get that it’s an anti-theft measure, but I am the original owner. Wyze knows this because I bought direct basically the week they first went on sale and they have that record of purchase and can link me to that device, plus I have the bloody base station it came with.

Anyone who steals an OC won’t have its originating base station, so shouldn’t it be able to be re-added to that original base station no matter what?!?

Is there nothing I can do with this cam that should be working? How can a company have no solution for this?

What’s nuts is in this linked post, they say:

In the event that the camera is stolen, it cannot be reset and disconnected from your Wyze Base Station or your account.

So they know the camera is yours - it’s attached to your account - yet for anti-theft reasons there’s no way to let you, the acknowledged owner, not a thief, bring it back online it if you delete it while it’s offline.

That is just bewildering.
