having issues with my Wyze Lock, after installing a month ago the auto-unlock has not worked properly, so i used all of the tips like turning off and on to the Wyze Hub, then resetup the Wyze Lock and also shutoff and restarted the WiFi on my phone and turned off and started the bluetooth on my android phone. I have also shutdown and restarted my internet router. Yet for a few days the auto-unlock works then stops, also my wifes I-Phone has the same problem with the unlock working a few times then failing. yesterday the unlock worked for me but my wife phone failed to auto-unlock. Now I can manually lock and unlock the Wyze Lock but the whole reason I purchased the Wyze Lock was for the auto-unlock feature as we both have our hands full when we come to the door and fumbling around to get the keys or manually using the unlock feature of the app just doesn’t cut it.
So what am I to do?
Submit a support ticket my friend. The more information they have on auto unlock the better it has improved believe me. I was a early access buyer and I had tons of problems with auto unlock and now I just have a few and I mean a few a week. So sending a log and give them as much information as you can so that they can continue to improve it
I have had it since early January as part of Early Access. My Auto Unlock wouldn’t work, then it of the blue decides to work 3 or 4 times in a row. Now I’ve gone more than a week without it working at all. Such a disappointment on what could have been.
Not sure how to get a log file that I can then upload to wyze, where are the log files?
You can submit a support request from within the Wyze app by going to Account > Help & Feedback > Report an Issue. This will allow you to include an app log for diagnosis. (Note that if you are using a beta version of the app, the log will be sent to the dev team rather than Wyze Support.)
Is the location always on on your phone(s)? If you have auto unlock enabled and open the Wyze app for any reason with location services disabled it will disable the auto unlock feature and may not turn it back on properly. More can be found here.
I don’t know about IOS, but Android devices that need to have Bluetooth operating in the background must have location services turned on in order to work. It’s not an app requirement per sē, but a requirement of the Android operating system.
I have a Bluetooth connected insulin pen that has to have location services turned on to work properly.
I was told by Jonathan that for auto unlock to work location services on iOS had to be on all the time
