Are you use Starlink Gen 2 Dish?
Not me, several people I know use Starlink though, like the Wyze volunteers @IEatBeans and @cyberdog_17
Iām using the starlink gen 2 dishy (rectangle) with no issues. I have about 15 Wyze cams and many other devices.
I set up starlink but havenāt connect it to my wyze camera and lock. Did you just change nextworks on wyze to starlink or did you need to do a few workarounds to get it to connect. I know wyze only works on 2.4, and am not sure how to make that happen with starlink. If i connect starlink to my existing wifi router with ethernet cable, will it give me both options of 2.4 and 5?
I didnāt have any issues with the 2.4/5ghz combined networks, as long as the network SSID and password are the same as your old router the cams should just connect
I have constant problems with my Wyze Cam Pan v3 operating on an otherwise flawless Starlink setup (flawless in the sense that I donāt have any problems with any other app or BB access, generally). I get well over 100up/25dn Mbps speeds via Starlink and I have 3 Starlink routers meshed and a couple of other wireless access points hard-wired to the Starlink ethernet adaptor (Samsung SmartThings - which is probably out of range of the Cam and a Wyze gateway for the door lock).
The (just updated) Wyze Cam is constantly showing āLoading Live Stream⦠Step 1 of 3ā¦ā with an occasional āNetwork unstable⦠Switch to 380p (?)ā. The camera reports 2 out of 3 bars for wifi signal strength despite being in direct line-of-sight with the Starlink router that is only 10ā away.
Have you found a resolution to this? I just bought 4 Wyze V4 cams and Iām having the exact same issue.
Yes, I replaced the original Starlink router with an inexpensive router from TP Link. This solved the problem. I have still had some cameras drop out occasionally but they come back on and stay connected most of the time.

Yes, I replaced the Starlink
1TB monthly data cap that costs over 105 dollars? So much Musk!!!
Hello,
I have Starlink and 4 WYZE v3 cameras. I have had 100% positive outcome. One thing before I started using Starlink, my research showed that the included Starlink router didnāt ālikeā security cameras. The fix at the time was buying a separate router with separate 2.4g and 5 g bandwidths. I use the Starlink router in ābypassā mode. Works perfectly 24/7 365 days a year.
Good luck
Last time I checked the cap was removed, unless I am missing something
No, you are correct. The 1TB is a real thing. It takes a lot of movie watching and streaming to get there, but you will get charged for the overage if you want the fast speeds. Otherwise, you just get throttled down until your next billing cycle. You can opt in to pay for the extra data ahead of time if you choose if you think you will go over the monthly 1TB limit.
I guess Iāll wait until the limitations are removed, then. I stream everything, I donāt have cable or satellite. I use iPTV and streaming services. Also I work from home most of the time on graphic intensive files that eat lot of bandwidth. Bandwidth cap is a deal breaker for me with any service provider.
I completely understand. It was unlimited when I first got Starlink and $90 a month. It has since gone up to $120 a month and the 1TB limit. To be honest, I have never come close to going over or even near the limit. Lots of zoom calls and lots of movies. However, a large family would make a difference in the usage. Iām sure.
My Xfinity Plan has a monthly 1.2TB limit ($99.00 a month) and I have never come close to that either even with all the regular TV streaming services, 12 WYZE cams on Cam Unlimited and a lot recorded Person, Pet (critter) and vehicle videos all day and night.
I hear ya. I tried to get Xfinity before Starlink, but it wasnāt available in my area. Youāve got a great price and plan. Congratulations.
We have Starlink and there are 5 people in our house. That adds up to hours of online video games a day, hours of TV and YouTube across all the devices, zoom calls, and 15+ active wyze cams.
We do not go over our 1TB cap.
EDIT
Just checked, and our current monthly average is 1.38 TB. The plan also says itās unlimited. $120 a month.
I canāt find any up to date info online, but we are not being charged more than $120 a month so
I guess the cap was removed after all.
Dang, thatās a lot.
Not that I have any room to talk, since I used 2.29TB in the last 30 days. over 900GB was just from all my Wyze cameras.
But Iām not on Starlink. I think I read somewhere that starlink removed their hard cap limit, and instead use a method to where you get priority bandwidth for the first 1 TB, and then you may get deprioritized during peak use times, but not cut off, just slightly lower maximums.
