I have two V4 cams in operation and they have never changed to 360, they are always on 2.5K. But if I change the setting on the driveway cam to HD it also changes the other V4 at the East side off my house to HD. If I change the East V4 setting to HD it also changes the driveway cam to HD.
I just leave them both on 2.5K. I have another V4 on the way, can’t wait to see if changing the settings on that will change to other two cams.
Dropped resolution is an indication of a WiFi congestion, changing resolution to one camera and affecting the other ones is some kind of bug either in camera FW or App.
Wasn’t there a discussion here that if two v4s are in a cam group and you change one (or it changes on its own due to bandwidth issues), it also changes the other? Are yours in a group?

Odd behavior indeed, I thought they had narrowed it down to that happening only when cams are in a group. Glad I will only have one v4 (assuming UPS/USPS ever figure out where it is).
Your V4 is probably the same place my Gray one is, it was never shipped so Now they are sending me a black V4 instead they said. It shows delivery for Monday 16 Dec but the USPS says they don’t have that one yet either.
Do you use the same email for both the forum and Wyze shopping?
UPS says mine is being transferred to USPS since Friday, USPS says they haven’t gotten it. Chat support says it is “on the way”.
Going from NJ to MA, UPS transfers in Boston, but it shows they are transferring it in Connecticut, so I’m guessing it will never show up.
Yes same email. I’ve purchased 13 other cameras and assorted accessories direct from the WYZE web site over the last 4 years and never had an issue receiving anything. If they can’t handle their special sale volume they shouldn’t have the sale. Gray V4 ordered 11/28, it was never shipped because they didn’t have any.
In my case I ordered on Sunday after black friday and it shipped tuesday which is fine. Delivery was supposed to be last friday but that’s when it got stuck in limbo between UPS and USPS. In this case it seems to be UPS that dropped the ball (well other than the fact that Wyze uses Mail Innovations which is awful).
Everything else I’ve ever gotten from them they sent using Amazon Fulfillment. Assumed this would be the same but apparently not.
Same problem.
Solution: I replaced my V4s with OGs when they went on sale for $9.99 week before last and the OGs work great so it’s not where they are located. I’m fairly sure that the problem lies with the firmware.
I love my Wyze-Cams bugs and all!
My V4s don’t downgrade to 360p.
I have the opposite going on. Cams upgrade occasionally from 360p or SD to HD and 2.5k based on cam capability. Not a big deal, but a first step in diagnostics when I experience connection issues. Although I have a 3-node 6e mesh system, bandwidth issues seem to creep in once in awhile. I don’t have the “support 200 devices” limit, but am over 125 with cams, smart plugs. Alexa, GH, TV’s and other wifi devices. You would think it should be down instead of upgrading.
Well put! Sounds like you’re onto something. Maybe I’m wrong but it seems as if the V4 cams firmware is set to record videos to the SDcard at 2.5K and can not be changed by the end user.
In the end the Cyber sales solved my problem. I can still use the V4s to view and directly record with so Bob’s yer uncle.
