I took a V3 offline for a couple of weeks and left it on a shelf indoors. It was working when I took it offline. Trying to get it online again it failed. So I deleted the camera and tried to set it up afresh. Instead of saying “ready to connect” it just clicks, and the red light blinks on and off.
I can’t figure out how it would have died indoors unplugged on a shelf, but here we are. Any suggestions?
I don’t have a Cam v3, but I’ve had a problematic Cam Pan v3 that didn’t give me any voice prompt after reset but connected when I tried to re-add it to the app anyway because the flashing red status LED indicated that it was in “ready to connect” mode. Have you tried the “add device” process even without getting the voice prompt? What happens with that if you do?
Well, this is odd. I had tried 6 or 7 times to do a factory reset with just the red light going off and on with a clicking sound. But this morning, trying to respond to Crease, I plugged it in again, did a factory reset attempt and then heard “Ready to Connect”. It’s now up and running. I have no idea what it was celebrating.
Yeah, I think my Cam Pan v3 did something similar where another time I did a reset (I installed the RTSP β firmware on it) it actually gave me the voice prompt again. I don’t know why that happened, either.
Thanks for testing again and taking the time to post an update!
I spoke too soon. When I moved it outside it reverted to being broken. It’s now back on my desk, it’s red light occasionally blinking with a hard clicking sound.
take a look at the usb connector. several of my v3 have had moisture leak in around the protective sleeve, and one of the symptoms is erratic behaviour.
