I’ve had Wyze WiFi security cams for several years now.
I’ve had 2 of the Wyzecam V2 for over 4 years that were great and that
I had no issues with. I upgraded both to the Wyzecam OG and have had
nothing but problems since.
I have adjusted locations of the cameras, my WiFi router,
tested my WiFi signal strength, tested communication to and from the
cameras, tested my upload and download speed, reset the cameras
several times, tried several SD card sizes and speeds, stayed up to date
on all firmware, there are no restrictions on my router, there are no battery or memory restrictions on the app, There is no VPN in use,
I am using 2.4Ghz not 5Ghz, I have uninstalled and re-installed the app, cleared the cache, etc. I genuinely have tried everything!
I get the notification that an event has occurred but when I try to watch the video, I get an error code, saying it can not fetch the video or that the camera did not upload the video to the cloud. So I then have to go to my SD card and watch the video
I have had to go back to my Wyzecam V2’s, which is absurd. But I have no choice. I need to have cameras that work, at my location. I want to use the new OG’s.
Are you trying from the same wifi network that the cams are on, or is your phone on cellular data or a different wifi network?
There is a known issue with Xfiniti and Rogers XB7 gateway and viewing video when not on the same LAN as the cameras, might possibly your problem if you have that gateway. Or the issue may have gotten worse where the cams can’t even communicate with the cloud.
If that isn’t it, have you tried the “reset services” option under each camera’s settings, followed by a reboot? Or worst case, delete the cam from the app, that should automatically put the camera into setup mode (if not, that implies that there is some communication issue between the cam and the cloud). If that is the case you can try using the setup button on the cam to put it into setup mode and re-add it, maybe that will be enough to get things back in synch.
EDIT to add, the fact that it is recording to SD card implies the camera can communicate with the Wyze servers, as it has to authenticate before it will do that as far as I know. I’d try the reset services option and also confirm if you have an XB7 or not.
