The only notifications I’m getting are text messages. No phone calls. No calendar notifications. No Wyze notifications (REALLY???).
I want to like the watch, I really do… but Wyze is making it difficult at the moment.

I guess you got your watch recently. It was probably because of some of our comments, the “fairly decent” watch faces appeared!
I have an update comment that the new watch faces appeared a day before this comment of yours.
And small screen size forever…
I received it yesterday and set it up, which was easy, so they get a point for that, but when you think about it, the watch is so extra basic set-up had to be easy.
If what I saw yesterday includes the new “fairly decent” faces, I’m speechless. The reason I took a picture of a black object was because the analog faces block the date and the digital (non-photo) faces are lame. Since all I can have on the face are the time and date, I just want the time and date in a basic font with no busy background, hence my “custom photo” face.
I wore my Apple watch to the gym this morning. It powered off on the way home so I had to put on the Wyze watch to take my cat for her 10 minute walk. At least the Wyze watch timer worked. Maybe I’ll use it exclusively for the cat walks. Quite the testimonial, huh? “If you need a timer to walk your cat, the Wyze watch is perfect!”
The watch has promise. The software needs polish. I started with the inital pebble, went to wearos and am trying this. After 6 days:
i think with a bit of software change/polish it could be a nice device and especially at the price
Came here to post my disappointment of the watch 44. It is a completely different product than the watch 47 which is false advertising in my opinion. I have already processed a return for mine.
For those giving constructive criticism I applaud you, however, to begin with how about wyze use the same software on both watches? Why is that even a thing? Like for real? My brother has the 47 and I played with for a while and thought yeah this is fine for $20. Then my 44 came in an yeah… Nah bruh…
Completely BS. There are no other words.
I have the 47 and none of the options or settings work to get notifications. I think these watches were released too soon and not thoroughly tested.
There is an extra setting on Android under special access that you have to enable to get notifications. I had to do it on my 44 and my fiancee’s 47.
Settings>apps¬ifications>advanced>special access>notification access
Two things, it depends on your version of Android for the setting and all my notifications are set properly. It works with the Band but not with the 47. Wyze knows this but haven’t fixed it yet.
Special access apps has been on the last 3 or 4 versions of Android, though where it is may have changed between versions (or if it’s not stock Android but a modified version like Samsung). On another thread, someone mentioned on Samsung running Android 10 you got to it by going to system>notifications and then you had to click 3 dots in the upper corner to get to special access apps.
And I did not have to do this for the band, this is an extra step that is only present on the watch it seems.
Officially returning this POC. I bought a smart watch about 2 years back off Alibaba and it is almost exactly the same. Same charger, interface and everything. Just like Wyze partnered with them and slapped their logo on it. Between Vacuums and Cars, I get the feeling they are losing control of the product selections… need to focus back on Smart Home Integration and the products they started with.
Nope, no such options. And I’m on Android 11.
This worked for me. I am running a Samsung. I got into the special access apps, one of the Wyze was on but one was off. Once I clicked both to on I started getting notifications. Thanks for the info.
I’m on Android 11 as well, but I’m stock android (pixel 3).
Do you have a search bar in your settings? If so, type special access into that and it should come up.
You’re welcome! That was what happened with mine too. One was off and one was on. When both toggled on the notifications started working.
That seems to work. It’s a shame that Wyze tech support doesn’t know this. They had me check everything else but this.
Oh I’m so glad you got it working!
Sometimes I really hate how fragmented android os is with allowing manufacturers to fiddle with it and moving settings around or outright burying them.
So wait a minute. 44 vs 47. What’s the difference other than the size. I thought they were the same. Is this not the case?
Just imagine they are completely different watches. They literally don’t share any of the ui elements with each other. Functionality is similar but they literally don’t even share the same watch faces.
Definitely disappointed by the Wyze Watch 44. What really bothered me is that they don’t have any faces which actively tell you what your heart rate is and how many steps you have done for that day. Going to the heartbeat function and then waiting for it to measure it is kinda stupid. I know it is a cheap watch, but the least they could’ve done is show the heart rate actively like the Fitbit. But as someone said in this thread I am definitely going to put an apple watch on the Christmas list as well.
