I have been trying for days to connect any device. I have been trying to connect Wyze camera versions 1, 2 and Outdoor with a battery. I have been a customer since the release of their first camera, probably ten years ago. I have had issues in the past, but with time and advil I have prevailed until this time. I have confirmed I am on 2.4 ghz wifi by pausing all wifi bands in the house except 2.4GHz and looking at my pc to see which band it was connected to. I copied and pasted my wifi password, not my Wyze password, and i get to “QR code scanned” and then none of them ever connect. I have about 10 cameras and not one is connecting.
Battery Powered WYZE Cam Outdoor that connects to the Base Station ?
Yes, but had issues connecting the base station. I have tried 10 version 1 and 2 cameras and that is my focus atm. I have removed sd cards and everything. I did get two to connect somehow, but the rest wont so I know I am doing something right.
I don’t have V1 or V2 cameras, but I still have four of the Battery Powered version one cameras in operation (First Activated) 4 November 2020. The Base station is plugged into the cable modem/router via ethernet and I have never tried switching the base to connect via WIFI. Furthest battery powered WCO is about 70 feet from the base.
Welcome to the forum @jason.morford. A few things to consider when it comes to your 2.4GHz WiFi network.
- Secure your network with WPA2 and not WPA3 or the WPA2/3 mixed/transition mode
- Be sure the 2.4GHz band is using only the 20Mhz channel width and not 40MHz or the 20/40 mix
- Do not use any “space” characters in your WiFi password
- For now, set your WiFi channel to 1, 6, or 11
- Once you have things working, you can set this back to auto if you wish
Best of luck!
I’m having the same issue with one of my v2 cams. The Wyze app says it is offline but I have the beta firmware loaded to it that adds RTSP streaming and I can see that stream with another app so the camera is connected to the network.
