Wyze Vacuum Map Editor

Weird, I don’t have that one, and don’t see it offered in the app (in beta section or firmware upgrade) or through the Test Flight app

This is exactly what I’m trying to do. iOS app def does not have this feature

We need to have the ability to let the robot explore new areas (open doors, moved furniture, etc…) to update its map each time.

We also need the option to select and area to spot clean. Instead we have to create virtual walls to constrain it into one of its rooms.

We also need to be able to move the base without having to reset the map and all of the rooms.

Once my map was created I was able to move the base station without any problems. I moved it from my dining room to bedroom, and on the next cleaning cycle, the vac simply did a 360° and knew which room it was now in without any issues.

I have also not had to change anything on the map after removing our Christmas tree, or adding a dresser in another room, the vac just updated its map and cleaned more or less depending on what was changed.

Nice hope i get the edit maps and or addition of floors in the near future in the IOS app. I wont kid around with 2 dogs the bin was full of hair when completed now i can make a nice rug!

It will do this. It seems like it scans during every run. I moved all my dining chairs and it ran under the table with a new pattern. If you leave a door open you will see added to the map on the next run.

Does the map editor allow more areas be added to a room? I have iOS (not beta) and still do not have map editor. My issue is that the pantry was originally blocked on initial scan and now that it is open, the WRV will still not go in and clean it.

Had to use the quick scan feature (which is fantastic addition) a couple times before I got a map I could edit. Not sure why I couldn’t split rooms on first scan. FYI, quick scan does about 100sq ft per minute, with it just rolling around creating map.
Broke main level into 8 rooms and set up a cleaning schedule that divides up areas between daily cleaning, a few times a week and weekly, depending on room.
So far do good and now will see how it works

With the new firmware I’ve created individual rooms and a schedule. While the vacuum kicks off at the scheduled time it will either ignore what rooms are listed and just clean elsewhere, or it will clean a portion of the schedule. Not sure what’s going on here.

It looks like they released the new IOS version (2.16.46) without the map editor. I downloaded the new version today and settings looks just like what you posted

Where did you find the quick scan option? I see no option in my wyze app (running latest beta app 2.17.6 with vacuum firmware 1.6.95) I do have the map editor.

Sadly, the map editor will not currently help with this problem. I think that you will (sadly) need to remap! It seems that the best way to get a good map is to remove all obstructions around the perimeter of the house and let it map the entire house. It also seems that if you have a set of rooms with multiple doorways (and therefore creating a totally interior set of walls) it might be best to close one or more doors so that all the walls appear to be part of the house perimeter. If you don’t do this, my experience is that you will be unable split certain areas properly into room. This is because the split function in the map editor only allows you to move the ends of the split line around perimeter walls.

I’ve read that there is a bug if you schedule cleaning of multiple rooms at once.

When you mapped you had the door closed, when it was cleaning the door is open and the Vac it like of [Mod Edit] I am in a different room. and then comes back. I see this where I need to close one door to my bath for the vac to correctly map, and that I can then split other rooms.

I had it map erything, then blocked off the areas I don’t want it to go through the app.

I have the same problem, the VAC maps the first half on the house, goes back and charges and then maps more of the house on the new charge, except the charge is always only 1/2 of the original full charge, so it stops again, Eventually, I have several missed rooms, and there is no way to add those rooms, also it identifies nearly the whole house as being room 1. I have reported all this to tech support but have had no response that would fix the issue. The software itself is terribly unresponsive “clunky” on my iPhone 12 mini. Tapping the screen to set up a border wall, does not work most of the time, and when it does because there is all one room, the room divider is worthless. I write software myself, and, frankly, I think Wyze should be better than this, the software is not at all professional. Very discouraged.

If you have the quick map option, you can use that when you have no map and it should produce a map within 10 or 15 minutes. I have this option, but I’m using the beta app on my android, so I don’t know if it is generally available.

This is exactly what I need. iOS app does not have this and have had to rest maps for various reasons. Last was it completely messed up the map. Wish I could run the vac in a mapping only mode.

Unfortunately, not available on IOS, (at least on my phone.)
