Wyze v4 is still a low-res bust with Amazon Fire/Show devices :(

Bought a new Wyze v4 hoping it would work better with Echo Show and FireTV devices - but NOPE!

Just like the v3 Pro, they load and stream at max-low (360p) res on these devices, with no way to change the stream quality. Every other Wyze Camera model I have will stream at HD res to these devices, and that includes the 2.5K Floodlight Pro.

But the v3 Pro and v4 still do not work correctly with Echo Show and FireTV devices, and so it seems that I wont be replacing all my correctly working v3 cams anytime soon,

Give it a while. New device - takes time for developers to add the capabilities.

I don’t get why Wyze doesn’t have eg 1080p support on V3 Pro and apparently V4 too but that would have been something better.

If its Wyze Alexa plugin or the fire tv devices at fault though. Idk what the supported resolutions of cam streaming that Amazon devices can support, if that includes eg 2k or not. Wyze isn’t the only one to determine that. If you have a different cam that shows up as 2k via Amazon devices then Wyze would be at fault sure.

As I understand it, whenever a camera manufacturer adds a new device, then all the various 3rd party entities have to add that device to get full capabilities. My assumption is that for some similar devices, that is really easy, but for some it is likely harder. And no, I’m not a programmer so I have no details on what goes on to make that happen.

Yeah, I never looked at Alexa plugins so no idea either despite being a programmer. No interest in doing so.
