If I only want one XS01-M and a SBS50 basestation is that possible? I’m not seeing th base station by itself. Just the smoke alarm for $30.
I looked for the Base Station Hub as well and couldn’t find it listed insividually. It appears they only provide it as a bundle. I did find it bundled with the listener though on Amazon for $29.99
Limited-time deal: X-Sense Wi-Fi Listener for Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors, Free Real-Time Alerts, Works with SBS50 Base Station (Included), Model SAL11
From X-Sense app you can send the request for the certificate to be sent to the insurance company. At some point of time I will request the certificate. It will be interesting to see if the certificate has deep enough technical details to raise insurance company’s attention? I would think most companies don’t care because it is much better than nothing after all.
My all First Alert detectors are interconnected, so I need only one listener. I was considering to get the minimum Ring configuration with Ring alarm listener but it would have been much more expensive.
Saw that after searching. Might just do the listener/base kit & 1 smoke detector for the certificate. Last time I checked it saves me about $90/year.
Does that $49.99 annual include the HMS & the smoke detector monitoring ?
No. It is a separate subscription in addition to the HMS.
The $49.99 is paid to X-Sense annually only for their Protect + Premium Monitoring of the Smoke and CO detectors on their subscription, monitored by Noonlight.
The HMS Subscription is paid to Wyze for their Home Monitoring Subscription using their Sense Hub and Sensors monitored my Noonlight. $99 Annually or $9.99 monthly.
The X-Sense home monitoring program ($49.99 annually) monitored by Noonlight, is totally separate and independent from the Wyze home monitoring program ($99 annually ) monitored by Noonlight. The X-Sense Listener is eligible for the X-Sense home monitoring program.
Steve
Yeah. That’s what I said.
Yes. Just confirming what you said. Sorry for any confusion.
An update regarding the models of Smoke and CO detectors that X-Sense is listing on their Web Site as compatible with the Protect +.Monitoring Plan.
Their Website only lists the 4 models as posted above. However, in the X-Sense App, there is a button to Learn More about Protect +. Within that there is a link to list Specific Device Models.
Here are the devices it lists as compatible with Protect +:
Someone double check that this would work? The listener comes w/ a base station, then the smoke alarm would pair with the base.
Yup. I just installed the SBS50 Hub and connected 3 XS01-M Smoke detectors to it lickety split. Makes Wyze setups look like complicated surgery by comparison! Extremely fast! And, those XS01-M detectors are much smaller than I expected but LOUD! The hub has some great volume too.
You can download their App now and it will let you see the lists I posted above.
The SAL51 is listed as both compatible with the SBS50 Hub and the Monitoring.
thanks, just ordered. Once everything shows up I’ll add the service. My insurance agent confirmed I’ll save about $119/year. So this is a really quick ROI for me.
Does the website and app use the same credentials? The app is not taking my long 30 character password, but it works fine on the website.
I have not logged into the Website. Didn’t even know that was an option. My app PW is only 12 Characters though. I’m going to see what the website offers now…
EDIT\UPDATE: It looks like they are different or it takes time for the info to propagate. I just tried to sign in using App credentials and it failed. I then tried to initiate a Password Reset link and it Failed telling me my Email address had no account. I am going to contact their Customer Support and ask if there is linkage between the two or if there is any HTML UI to my installed devices.
Same here. tried forgot password in the app and it had no record of my account. So they must be separate databases.
Do any of these sensors monitor propane/natural gas too?
I would love to have detectors that did it all (not just smoke and CO)!
It doesn’t look like X-Sense is going to fill that need. They do have some other sensors like Leak Detectors and a Thermometer \ Hygrometer, but it doesn’t appear they have any for flammable gas.
Those sensors for propane, etc. are a special beast. Sometimes they are called “LEL detectors” for “lower explosive level”. You might be able to make one of the listener types connect. Pay attention to where they should be mounted. For example, a propane sensor should be located inches above the floor.
Thanks. I’m not looking for one, but @muerte33 is.
I have a NG Package Unit outdoors with no gas in or under the house, so I’m not too concerned. Plus, my sniffer does quite well with quickly recognizing and categorizing it since I commercially transport CNG, LP, and Acetylene on a regular basis. I also deal with commercial installation of Carbon Dioxide detectors and alarm systems so I understand the need for low placement of detectors for high density gasses.
