Thank you sir, you are both a gentleman and a scholar.
Just ordered 2 starter packs and 2 extra motion sensors to try out.
Now if we can get Smartthings integration, life would be sweet.

I know it says 12 EST but I was just able to order @ 9 EST and all looks well!

Just ordered mine via the app. Got just the contact sensors because I have no idea what to use the motion sensor for. I use the Cams for motion detection so the sensor seems like unnecessary duplication.

Oh wow! Thanks for the heads up. I have a feeling that the sensor packs will be sold out long before the official launch time. Glad I read the forum this am

Motion sensors are great for the actual automation part of your home. IFTTT, well, sucks in my opinion.
Takes way too long to trigger (being cloud to cloud to home round trip), rendering actual automation moot. (Just my opinion)

Once native Smasung Smartthings integration or better yet Hubitat integration happens… I will be a very happy man!

When you say automation I assume you are referring to the in app Shortcuts. I didn’t know they added support with the sensors to work. That may be a good use of that sense.

I agree that fee if this then that IFTTT isn’t the best. I’m primarily looking for a way to set up notifications with the rest of my automation. I would love for google home or Amazon Alexa routine integration. That way when I am leaving it will coordinate with the rest of my smart devices and start motion detection.

Sort of… I have a house with different controllers (Alexa, IFTTT, Hubitat, Logitech and Smartthings).
Alexa, Logitech and IFTTT live in the cloud.
Hubitat is all local operation (with the exception of Alexa, Logitech and IFTTT) not utilizing this hub yet
Smartthings is both, however moving more to local execution.

Automation by my definition is… walk into a room… motion sensor detects, turns on the in wall smart switches to my liking based on what time of day. Walk out of room, no detection from motion for lets say 5 minutes… Lights turn off.

Same for selected open/close sensors.

To accomplish this now without official integration I need to create “virtual switches” in smartthings that tie to an IFTTT trigger which is tied to the sensor/s. I need to do a “virtual switch” for each of the sensors needed.

Alexa is voice activated and I only use it for my theater, as I might watch youtube or plex or Netflix, each of which now leverages my lights in different ways. So, I say turn on Netflix and the lights dim like a theater and when I say play or select play the lights drop out. If i pause… selected lights come up to 10% for intermission(potty breaks/popcorn). Stop playback and lights come back on.

Many more routines/integrations are setup based on time of day… I could go on forever.

Everything in the house turns off at midnight unless motion detected… Garage closes, lights go off, temp goes down, doors lock and Alexa reports if any sensors are open afterwards.

Perhaps I went too far or this was not what you were looking for.

Not too far at all. It’s great to hear what other people do with their automation. I am adopting the processes but is taking me time. I have a few smart TRÅDFRI outlets, ecobee and several Wyze things but not as much as what you have. Some of those things I hoped to do and others don’t quite fit with my vision. Nonetheless, it’s great to see all the different methods people are using their automation to their own preference.

What a great B-Day!!!

Thank you Wyze!

The rush / crush, almost took for the site!

Yikes!

Just the sensors? You need the bridge for them to work, right? So at least need to get one sense kit.

Which switches and dimmers are you using?

Yes. That’s right.
