my wyze robot vacuum constantly fails mapping and stops, when i don’t really see a cause why. take this instance for example:
there’s nothing in its way. why doesn’t the vacuum just keep “mapping” by learning of any obstacles, avoiding them, and continuing on? i feel like this used to be better but has gotten worse lately. i checked and cleaned all of the various sensors i can see on the vacuum itself. not sure what else to do. i do believe the firmware is current. thanks.
What was it doing exactly when this occurred? Full vac by pushing the vac button, room selection, or quick map?
In the app, I normally just go to devices > vacuum > and press the vacuum button at the bottom. That’s all I ever do. It seems to update its room map when doing so as well.

Okay, yes, a full vacuum (as long as it docks okay at the end) should update the map with any changes it found. I’ve had a dirty lidar tower cause it to detect ‘ghost’ objects in certain places, but it would otherwise clean everywhere else like normal. Blowing out the lidar tower has been working for a lot of weird navigation issues for me, which makes sense since it’s the primary sensor for navigation.
Also, I generally avoid using full vacuum since it tends to ‘corrupt’ the map over time. So, I always leave one room (that it doesn’t go into) and select the rooms to vacuum, then it won’t save the changes. Minor changes, like chair placement, it can just figure out on the fly every time. For bigger changes, I do a full vacuum, usually with extra no-go zones to make it quicker.
Ok thank you! I will try that.
