I purchased a second robot vacuum a few months ago and it did good for a month or so then started destroying maps once a week. We run the vacuum three days a week. I’ve tried a factory reset and I’ve put no-go zones anywhere I think it might be getting caught on something (and it’s not). There is no new firmware to install. I’m super frustrated. You can see from the image that it got to the third room and went nuts. I’m tired of constantly having to recreate my maps. Anything else I can try?
If you are doing *full runs, that can eventually corrupt the map. I’ve never had to reset my maps once I stop doing that. You’ll need at least one un-selected “room”, then it won’t mess-up the existing map by saving lots of un-needed changes.
Also, blow out the lidar unit on top, sometimes something gets in there and causes weird behavior.
Another common maintenance tip: periodically clean the charging contacts with isopropyl alcohol.
*Full run: Hitting the vacuum button without selecting any room(s).
Thanks for the tips. I never do full runs. As you can see in the screenshot, the laundry is not selected. Two days a week I do two rooms. Saturdays I do three of four rooms.
It is a practically brand new vacuum so I wouldn’t expect the lidar to already be dirty and we don’t have pets. I will ensure it’s clean though.
