Any timeline to make the palm lock and unlock with the palm?
It already unlocks with the palm. I’m pretty sure locking with the palm isn’t on the timeline or even on their radar at all. Most people either tell the door to auto lock or press the lock button on the screen.
Can you elaborate on why you would want it to lock with the palm?
Sometimes my 18yo comes home and tries to scan her palm when the Palm lock is already unlocked, and would be extremely annoyed if her intent is to scan her palm to unlock the door, only to make it do the opposite and lock her out when it was already open, so she has to scan twice.
If they do implement a scan to lock feature, it would be useful to have 1 hand that locks it and the other unlocks it, instead of using the same hand for both actions (ie scanning while locked will unlock it, scanning while unlocked will lock it)
I would just say that the reasons for locking by palm are the same as unlocking by palm. Common sense would indicate that. It should be a very simple software tweak that would add value.
“Common sense” is that intruders or any unwelcomed guests are trying to unlock your lock not relock it ![]()
