Improvements or features for Palm Lock

Would like to see the feature for using palm lock to auto lock and unlock the door lock without having 'auto lock" enabled. Currently is is a pain if you are going in and out of the door frequently and have the door locking behind you. Uses up valuable battery power. Add a feature that can be enabled to use only palm lock in this mode. (Palm recognition to open or lock when the door is closed)

Welcome to the Forum, @p03770!

I’m struggling to understand what you’re suggesting here, because one thing you seem to indicate is that you want Palm Lock to lock automatically even when Auto-Lock is disabled. What additional detail can you provide about what you’d like to see Palm Lock do?

As what @Crease indicated, a little more clarification would be great.

Please note, the Palm Lock can be locked via the Palm window by clicking on the lock image when the display is illuminated. In addition, you can setup an Automation to unlock and lock the door. This can be accomplished via a Trigger, a Shortcut, A time, and even your presence.

would one of those suffice?

Sorry I am new to the palm lock unit. Maybe its the way i configured it but according to the online support representative, the palm reader only works if autolock feature in enabled when trying to enter through the door. I am looking for the capability to use the palm lock recognition feature without engaging the auto lock feature, meaning when you walk up to the lock , you can use your palm to lock or unlock at will. That way the door can be left in the unlocked mode if you are freqently going in and out. Am i correct you can not use it in this mode currently. You can use the keypad with access code to simulate this leave open or closed.

If I understand what you’re saying in this most recent post, then you can leave Auto-Lock disabled and just use the padlock icon on Palm Lock’s keypad to lock the door when you close the door from the outside, just as @spamoni advised. I like the Auto-Lock feature because I can just pull the door closed behind me when I leave and hear the lock actuate without any further intervention, but if you don’t want Palm Lock to lock the door every time you close it, then you probably don’t want to enable Auto-Lock.

The palm vein scanner will work even when Auto-Lock is disabled. Depending on how you have Battery Management set, you may need to tap the keypad to wake up the screen and vein scanner, but you should see the device light up to let you know that it’s capable of scanning your palm vein pattern even when Auto-Lock is turned off.

Does that make sense?

I think the OP wants to be able to lock and unlock at will using the palm scanner only.
