Wyze Outdoor V3 motion detection issue

Need help with Wyze Outdoor Cam V3. It is powered successfully with solar and is connected to base station, and is served by Cam Plus. Both camera and base station have functioning SD cards inserted. What I want and what I get are 2 different things.

I want all motion events of people and pet recording — there are no automations enabled. What I get is events triggering at about 10 feet from camera, which then follows action for the entire detection zone for 12 seconds (that is duration I have in settings.) No events are recorded unless triggered any closer than 10 ft. I have a feeling it has something to do with the PIR setting. Camera and base station are current on the software and firmware.. The solar battery remains charged at 100%.

I have screen shots of some of the settings that might show something that needs changing. Thank you in advance.

Thank you in advance.

I think you mean a WYZE Cam Outdoor maybe Version one or two.
SD card in the base is a waste of a card, there is no backup to the base when you have cam plus. The SD card in the cam will only work if you do scheduled event recording.
Set the camera to 100 for detection and sensitivity, set the camera to no cooldown period. Are 30 second videos what you really want?
Best motion detection is achieved when the movement is side to side across the field of view, straight at or away from the camera is horrible.
Best distance for person is about 20 feet, motion across the field of view.

Thank you so much for your response and explanation of what this older WYZE Cam Outdoor is capable of. I now understand that it will not work as well as my wired WYZE Cam V3 with the floodlight installed. On that camera with CamPlus, I can record all person and pet motion events 24/7 without a schedule. It shows backyard at a different angle and I can just stay with that.

Since I have had zero luck recording events with the WYZE Cam Outdoor on either backyard or front yard, I am going to cancel Cam Plus at renewal time. I removed it from the list of cameras covered by Cam Plus hoping that the SD cards in both camera and base station might give events without schedule set. I did get a few still shots, but selecting the “play” triangle took me to a CamPlus sign up page. It’s a shame, because the solar panel is working flawlessly and seemed perfect for outside monitoring where no electrical is available. I had hoped that it would work similar to my indoor V3 that just relies on an SD card and will do video playback without CamPlus assigned. No sense paying Cam Plus for the Outdoor with such limited usefulness. Thank you so much for saving me from further frustrating attempts.
