Tldr - Try quickly going Off, On, Off, Auto. If the light slow pulses On/Off for about 20-30 seconds before triple flash… that was likely “pairing mode”. If it triple flashes within about 3-5 seconds of going to Auto… that has likely skipped pairing mode.

I haven’t given it enough time to 100% understand, but I gained a little understanding & got mine to re-pair.
I have 4 of the 2022s. I somehow lost all pairing & needed to set them back up again. At first, when going from “Off” to “Auto”, they would immediately triple flash within about about 3-5 seconds. In this scenario… they never paired. I think the triple flash means that it’s headed to Idle/Auto mode, rather than pairing mode.
While playing with it, I quickly swapped from Auto to Off to On to Off to On to Off to Auto… & noticed that it didn’t immediately triple flash. It slow pulsed for about 20-30 seconds & then triple flashed. When I did this with two of them at the same time… those two paired.
The next two, I believe I went quickly from Off to On to Off to Auto & it went into 20-30 seconds of pulsing, triple flashed, & they synced up.
In both of the cases where it worked… i may have also had them “off” for more than a few minutes before attempting… though I am not confident that was part of the fix. I think to forget existing pairing, you likely go quickly Off, On, Off, Auto.
